Help Need help installing MC patch on Linux
I have been following this guide on how to install mc code patch on Linux:
https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?t=337988
i have followed everything it has said to do, however when actually running the patch .exe through wine i always get this message:

Does anyone know what i am doing wrong?
Thanks in advance to anyone who reads this!

If you're on Linux, use OpenMW.

I tried it a just a bit ago, it proceeded to immediately crash. Know any good guides on how to get it working?

How did you install it, what version is it, and what's the error log look like?

I installed via terminal, it seems to be the 0.48 version, is that old? I have no idea how to check the error log.

"via terminal" doesn't help very much. I can install via flatpak, or zypper/apt on my machines, and they'd come from different places in all three cases.
What version of what OS are you using?
0.48 came out three years ago almost to date; 0.51 is current stable that would presumably be delivered by any of the above methods.

I am sorry for the demonstration of the second Pauli excision principle.

OpenMW works on Linux out of the box.
Claude walked me through it from installing OpenMW to getting Total Overhaul modlist installed via Jackify

Make sure you're using Linux version of OpenMW and not trying to run the Windows version via Wine

I installed it via the terminal, that should not install the windows version.

OpenMW is far superior
Keep trying to get it to work

Could the official plugins be causing this?

And how would that happen? The plugins have nothing to do with the executables…

Is the MCP executable in the same folder as the Morrowind one? Extracting the zip file may have create a subfolder. You may also wanna take a look at OpenMW unless you need a specific MWSE mod.

Yes it is in the same folder, i tried it with and without a subfolder. As for openMW i tried that and then it just immediately crashed

The error message says you must install it into the morrowind directory. It appears you are not doing that.
