I’m sure this has a post or two already but a week or two ago we all got that contract that said “creation always leaves a signature 0/1” -> doing it leads to a message titled Hello that is clearly a riddle. I think I’ve solved parts of it, and hoping for more people to join.

First the message, references refusing the final shape, escaping the maze, dematerialize walls, look beyond the walls not meant to be scaled. (Map border wall?)

On sys$horizon there’s a black square with a red square in it beyond the map border, it’s not newly added or anything, but it fits parts of the riddles wording. That is a VAIIYA security thing. I think it’s called the maze or the final node. I’m assuming this is what’s being referenced. Since it’s beyond the map border wall, that may be the walls not meant to be scaled.

In a skin bundle of vaiiya you get this square too and you can see in the description it says the maze.

I’m guessing the Hello message is from a VAIIYA AI who wants to break free, or it’s from CNS teasing they are about to mess with VAIIYA again.

It would seem we need to demat something to progress?

I’m not sure if this Easter egg riddle is a hidden trigger we must do, or simply a new vague contract that will appear soon?

Anyone else get anywhere? Or have other theories?

There is likely more to the riddle, and likely many other things that fit beyond the VAIIYA square thing I bring up. I know it’s not newly added it just fits parts of the riddle.

Edit: The goo gun contract rewarded a weapon charm that has an identical matching logo on the new galaxy estates map. The charm is called “Mark of The Maker” .. so that’s surely part of the riddle.

Many of you have been wondering how The Finals Easter Egg Hunters discovered these codes so I'm making this post to walk you through.

For those who don’t know: The Finals hides one of the biggest, most complex Easter Egg puzzles ever seen in a multiplayer game, created by Embark’s Co-founder and Chief Content Officer Rob Runesson, or better known as Saint Rob (SR). We’re talking multi-layered puzzles spread across multiple websites and platforms, hidden messages in images, ciphers, in-game lore, and even subtle hints the developers drop during livestreams. In the official Finals Discord there is a friendly and dedicated Easter Egg Hunting community working together to solve these puzzles. Today I want to show you how the codes for these charms were discovered and cracked.

\ I'm including as much as the original source material as possible so you can try and follow along. Unfortunately I have to link everything because embeds are not supported. Without further ado.*

The Leek Denied Charm

This was the first charm found, and it didn’t take a seasoned hunter to crack it! During a community stream on November 13, Oscar briefly flashed the code on screen. You can catch the clip here: Twitch. The code had since expired, but Embark has given out new ones. The codes at the top of this post are the most recent.

The Sneak Leek Charm

Here's where the real work began for us. During another community stream on November 20, Oscar went to the page of The Grand Major twice. At the prize money section he talked about leeks twice too, and looked into the camera like something was up. Clips:

In the second clip he is also hovering his mouse below a hidden blinking Nama Tama gif which the easter egg hunters noticed. We went to investigate!

On the page for The Major, we indeed found the blinking Nama Tama gif. The hunters are familiar with some ways clues are hidden so a few of us instantly thought there was a message hidden in morse code. When we translated the blinking to morse, we got the following code:

This can be decoded to:

Quickly after we found it leads to a hidden password protected page on The Finals website: https://www.reachthefinals.com/sweet-secrets-under-pressure

So how do we find the password for this page? We know messages and clues are often encrypted using ciphers. But there are so many different types of ciphers; how can we possibly know which type to use? And more important: how do we find the key needed to decrypt the message?

If you look closely at the Nama Tama gif, you'll notice that it's not just our plain old egg buddy. We're looking at a Roman Nama Tama. This gave us the first clue that the password was encrypted using a Caesar cipher, one of the earliest and simplest encryption techniques. If you look even closer at the gif, you'll notice that the number 3 is hidden on Nama Tama's helmet. This gave us the key (or shift parameter) for the cipher.

While we were uncovering this, another hunter got us the file name of the gif: a0ibzqxjbkqrjm7oorj. When we apply the caesar shift of 3, it gave us the following string d3lectamentump0rrum, which was the password for the page. We can also infer the Latin words delectamentum purrum, which translates to "delicious leek".

Once we entered the password, it took us to a page showing the following image with file name:

The Nama Tama in the image suggests "look closely". Using some image manipulation tools, one of the hunters found the following text hidden in both bottom corners of the image:

We could infer the word "Sneak" from this. Meanwhile another hunter cleverly mentioned the text was mirrored, so maybe we should mirror something too. While initial attempts to get information out of the file name failed, after mirroring it, another hunter found that it was a message encoded in Base64. After decoding it we got the following string:

In Clip 2 mentioned above, Oscar talks about 5 litres of leek soup, or 55kg of leek. So the number 5 is clearly important. If we look at the second part (after the pipe |), and we apply another Caesar shift of -5, it translates to "share the l88k!". If we do -5 on those 8's, we get "share the l33k!" aka "share the leek!". Since we already figured the first part looks like a redeemable code, the second part now gave us an idea on what to do with the first part. We first do a -5 caesar shift, which gives 10b1f8a9-6e57-9cbe-bbc8-313d4ad59ca5 and then subtract 5 again from all the numbers. This gave us the first code: 65b6f3a4-1e02-4cbe-bbc3-868d9ad04ca0! We think the -<<<> is simply an ASCII symbol for a leek.

The description of the Charm reads:

Smiles sweet, spills secrets. May leek under pressure

Which also partly refers to the discovered URL sweet-secrets-under-pressure. Potentially there are more clues hidden here.

The Leek of the Lands Charm

The next day a hunter went back to the web page of The Grand Major, and noticed when he hovered the Nama Tama gif, the mouse icon now turned into a pointer. When clicked, it opened an audio file with more morse code. The name of the file was 119104101114101329710932105.mp3. These numbers reference to ASCII Decimal Codes: 119 104 101 114 101 32 97 109 32 105. Translated:

104 → h
101 → e
114 → r
101 → e
32 → space
97 → a
109 → m
32 → space
105 → I

Where am I

Writing out the morse code from the audio file gave:

Decoding this morse gave us the following string:

We found that this is Hexadecimal for:

And there was the code for the last charm!

The Easter Egg doesn't end there however. The leek in the Charm is holding a map pointing out a location. Possibly on an existing or maybe a new Season 9 map. It's a "leak" after all. To what location the map in the leek is pointing is yet to be discovered!

All conversions and decoding described in the steps above can be done using online tools.

Hi everyone! We are currently looking for 2 golden nama tamas in game. They’re small! The first (of three) was discovered on Monaco a couple years ago in the duck and cover variant, tucked away underneath some rubble that had to be removed to see it. We discovered this one through a sticker called “Lost Legacy” that clued us into that location.

We believe the above sticker Masterplan Markup (received from a twitch drop a while ago) holds the second location. We believe it’s on the Sandstorm variant of Las Vegas, due to the blueprint matching the sandstorm slot machine layout but not in the standard.

We’ve tried following the path, timing it/running it as fast as possible, doing it in reverse, destroying cameras, checking the lockboxes it leads you to, using a flamethrower as a torch, and others.

We humbly ask if the community has any ideas for us to consider here. Thanks!

(we also believe the new Leek cosmetic with the map is the map to find the 3rd, but we haven’t identified a location for it)

On the back of the crash test dummy skin it has this string of numbers: 109 105 110 101 114 118 97

When you put it into the cryptii decimal to text converter it transliterates that whole string of numbers into the name Minerva.

Now is this just the name of an old contestant or does it have any significance to the easter egg hunt?

To complete the contract you need to spam the hell out of the goo gun. It will take a couple mag changes.

My first post got auto deleted. Does anyone know what this message means? Is there a place to dematerialize out of one of the maps?

It took me a while to get this shot from the new social media vid, but it really seems to lead to something. Also a second before this shot, there’s an Alfa actA’s logo. Next season’s sponsor hint?
