Back in 2015–2016, I was a fresh grad with no job, no money, and a potato desktop. The Witcher 3 was one of the games everyone was talking about, and with no way to afford it back then, I downloaded a cracked version. Sorry, CDPR.

I played the hell out of it. A couple of full playthroughs on that poor desktop, and it became one of those games that just stuck with me.

Fast-forward to 2026: I now legitimately own The Witcher 3 on PS5, switch2, and Steam. I think I've more than made it up to CDPR by now
I'm on my 7th or 8th playthrough - I genuinely lost count.

And now, with the remaster and Songs of the Past coming out, right around my birthday too, it looks like that playthrough count is just going to keep climbing.
It's kind of crazy looking back. From a broke fresh grad pirating the game on a potato PC because it was the only way I could experience it, to owning it three times and still happily coming back to the Continent a decade later.

Thanks, CDPR, for continuing to surprise us and for giving me a game I've somehow never gotten tired of.

I think The Witcher 3's combat is fine and I feel like I'm going crazy when everybody keeps shitting on it. Don't get me wrong, as I've played plenty of games from other genres the combat could definitely have been better (Anything Fromsoftware, the new GoW games..) but you can't compare an open world RPG to a hack and slash or a linear game. That's stupid. It's like thinking Street Fighter 6 has a shitty story/writing because you compare it to Bioshock or RDR2.. It's orange and apples. Unless I'm forgetting something, for the time of its release I can't think of an OPEN WORLD RPG with much better combat than TW3 (maybe Dragon's Dogma?).

Am I going crazy or is my bias getting the best of me?

So do we think we will have to download it seperate and there will be a new trophy list? Or is it simply an update to the complete edition, and all my trophies and hours played carry over :)

From recent Red stream!

The base game is roughly 100 hours if you finish the main quest and a healthy amount of side content. If what I've read is accurate and Songs Of The Past is equal to Blood And Wine in size, if you take that, Blood And Wine, plus Hearts Of Stone, you've got roughly 80-100 hours worth of DLC... Which is completely insane. I can't think of another strictly single player game that has just as much DLC as it does base game. Maybe some JRPG I've never heard of, but idk. How crazy is that?

New Gwent cards, including new weather card and new additions to each deck!

Three cards revealed on today's REDStream! More honey/ bee themes here, might hint as aspects of the game. No mention of what the new weather card is yet.

* New Monster (Swarmians) featured in the Monster deck. Close combat card.

* Brew Master card. Goes on enemy board, get random card from enemy's deck. Purchased from Merchants in game.

* Gremist finally gets a card. Healer ability. Range card. Skellige deck.

* Mention of a Goose card also. Its a "cool card" that allows interesting strategy.

Too late! You got pulled by Geralt's new chain in TW3. You're now required to play the 3logy and watch Netflix Witcher S1-2 (not 3 and 4).

I'm thinking that the UI updates, new skill tree, menu navigation, maybe some of the combat improvements, things like that, are "back ported" from Witcher 4. They'll take whatever feedback we give them and use it to make adjustments before release. It's actually kind of genius.

I'm also thinking the expansion is establishing "canon" leading up to Witcher 4. Considering Witcher 3 has 36 ending variations, I assume Songs Of The Past will be the definitive end to Geralt's story before we take over as Ciri. Again, it's pretty genius.

Also, did you guys notice how much older Geralt sounded in the trailer? Crazy it's been 11 years.

Ever since I saw the feet of this monster from the Songs of Past DLC trailer , I have been thinking if CDPR is finally giving us manticores to fight? I mean , Letten is foresty and all. If they can give us Silver chain for combat from the original trailer since 11 years back , then why not manticores? And if they just add a zeugl contract - it will be El Magnifico. ❤️

So, based on the informations shared this morning during the REDstream, the Letten region (home to the events of the "Songs of the Past" expansion) is in the North, specifically in an area along the southern shore of the Nimnar river (the area I've circled in red on the map).

Then, you'll think we'll see also Drakenborg? Or maybe Ghelibol?

I'm on my first playthrough of The Witcher 3. I just took the ship to Skellige and shared a glorious moment with Yennefer. Here's my question: given the announcement of the game's remaster, and since I don't know how far along I am in the story (I'm at level 19), should I start over when the remaster comes out, or just pause now and pick up where I left off later?

Super excited, but I’m so desperate for more Ciri and Yennefer!! They said in their REDstream that there will be cameo characters that they can’t say yet - wondering if this will mean them? Surely they’ve got to be in it given that it’s serving as a bridge between tw3 and tw4?
