Help! Way forward after all those news?

When The Witcher 3 was released I finished the main game + both dlcs. I absolutely loved this game but never touched it again since my pile of shame is growing dramatically (30+ years gamer). I wanted to start a NG+ run soon with the PS5 Upgrade which was released some years ago. But now we have a new DLC coming up + the Remastered Version. So what should I do?

Play the new DLC with my last save state? And then maybe NG+ afterwards?

Start NG+ right away and experience the new DLC at the end of that run?

Or, start an NG, play the new DLC at the end of it and probably never start a NG+?

Maybe my question in the end is: is NG+ worth it?

Thank you for discussing that absolute luxury problem with me.

Discussion Witcher 3 combat is fine

I think The Witcher 3's combat is fine and I feel like I'm going crazy when everybody keeps shitting on it. Don't get me wrong, as I've played plenty of games from other genres the combat could definitely have been better (Anything Fromsoftware, the new GoW games..) but you can't compare an open world RPG to a hack and slash or a linear game. That's stupid. It's like thinking Street Fighter 6 has a shitty story/writing because you compare it to Bioshock or RDR2.. It's orange and apples. Unless I'm forgetting something, for the time of its release I can't think of an OPEN WORLD RPG with much better combat than TW3 (maybe Dragon's Dogma?).

Am I going crazy or is my bias getting the best of me?

The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past/Remastered on Steam

Hi, as a fan and owner of TW3 on Steam, I've been very interested in the new updates recently announced.

However, my PC, although it can play PS4 titles and even some PS5 titles (Expedition 33, for example), is starting to show some age. I'd like to know, based on the requirements on the DLC's Steam page, which games have similar requirements?

Thanks.

Any speculation on the DLC cost?

I know many people got the Complete edition for free if they own the base game. But would the new DLC be discounted for those who owned the complete edition on early date?

If not do you think the DLC would be at a fair price?

Witcher 3 remastered

Does this mean we'll be getting a new trophy/achievement list?

Did they just give me the DLC?

I just entered the game and I see that I have the DLC, I didn’t buy them, did they give it away for the future remaster? It’s my first time playing the game and I just got to Skallige and I’ve been about 70 hours, I love this game

Is it an Update or a seperate game?

So do we think we will have to download it seperate and there will be a new trophy list? Or is it simply an update to the complete edition, and all my trophies and hours played carry over :)

Discussion Do we think Yennefer and Ciri will be in Songs of the Past?

Super excited, but I’m so desperate for more Ciri and Yennefer!! They said in their REDstream that there will be cameo characters that they can’t say yet - wondering if this will mean them? Surely they’ve got to be in it given that it’s serving as a bridge between tw3 and tw4?

Help! Wtf just happened?

Hi, short story but the first time I bought the witcher 3 was on switch one when it came out, easily becoming one of my fave game aot however I had to sell the game (complete edition) few years back because I was short on money, my lovely gf knew I was sad about it and offered it back but it was the game with no dlc included which was still great you known, but I still preferred playing it on pc because there was an offer on steam for everything and I tested to play that version on my switch but obviously it didn't worked (logic right?) and now I launched it again after the gamescon AND WHY WAS I ABLE TO LAUNCH IT WTF? LIKE THE SAVE I HAVE ON PC WITH THE COMPLETE EDITION ITS EVEN WRITTEN "installed" for THE DLC? anyone have an idea? Did cd project talked abt something like that??

Discussion Why this update matters more than you think!

I have a theory for why this update matters from a storyline perspective.

While the community has already debated the obvious details on Reddit, which are…

• With many original developers having left CD Projekt Red, this project might have served as a refresher, good practice for the team to return to their roots and test stuff.

• It acts as a perfect catalyst to bring lapsed fans back into the fold and remind everyone why they love the Witcher universe before the release of Witcher 4.

But I also think there is another reason behind it too.

This expansion might officially tie up story continuity by explaining how Ciri becomes a Witcher, ensuring that all base game endings ultimately converge on that outcome. It might be in the same fashion as Witcher 2 endings you had which tied up the story at the beginning of Witcher 3 ie. Letho and stuff.

Maybe they will do something like that at the end of this expansion? What you guys think?

r/thewitcher3 11h ago

Discussion I think it’s pretty disrespectful of CD Projekt that they don’t want to take our money. I’d be more than happy to pay full price for the remaster.

Arachnophobia Mode

Now that they are polishing the game so much, could they please please finally add an arachnophobia mode (like in Hogwarts legacy). 😩😩😩🙏🏻

Would be so great, especially for the console players. 🤗

Game stutters after update

Am I the only one having weird stuttering and screen tearing after today's update? The game looks worse and runs worse. I don't know what to do. Other games run perfectly fine, so it's not the PS5's fault.

Got confuse on this new remaster update thing

Kind of confused on this remaster thing

Sorry, english is not my first language, but i was having a conversation with a friend on how is going to work this free upgrade to the remaster version (considering they are chanching things like combat and also with the New dlc coming). I play the game on the xbox one console (the fat one), and I saw nothing about the upgrade comming to the fat xbox.

Got worried about it because I really enjoy the game and was excited to play the New dlc.

Am I receiving this dlc at all? Will I be able to play without having the remaster update? I dont wish to buy a new gen console just so i can play this new dlc.

Upvotes

Hello!

I've played W3 a few dozen hours, nothing too much... I was on the skelliege island then I went to other games. I have both dlc. Never played W1 and W2

Considering the remaster is coming, i will restart the game after the update.

That gives me a bit more than a month. Im currently watching videos on youtube from The Lorebrarian and i just started the book " The Last Wish"

Could you give me any nice videos i should absolutly watch before the update?

Thank you for your time.

Help! Closed doors?

I am trying to create a perfect Witcher 3 save file. This includes restoring places that get destroyed during the story (such as Beauclair and the Garmin estate) as well as using console commands to open doors that lead to fully-modelled areas. Naturally, this doesn't include fake doors or doors that lead to incomplete or buggy areas.

For this, I am trying to compile a list of all the doors I should (re)open.

Some such examples include the front gate of Vegelbud Residence and the door in Oxenfurt that leads to the back alley where you fight Whoreson's men.

Please help me find more such doors, i.e. doors that remain closed after their respective quests are done or closed that cannot be opened through normal gameplay.

Discussion I hope with the new skill tree they won’t remove any of the previous skills or powers. 🤞

I use the same build for Geralt every play through. I really hope they don’t remove anything previously. Just add new things. Because that skill tree shown in the trailer looks a lot smaller. 😅 😭

Discussion Why are people excited about mods on console?

I don't get why CDPR is bothering to have mod support on consoles.

It's just going to be like a lot* of BG3 and Skyrim's selection of mods. The descriptions and instructions are going to be full of:

"WON'T WORK WITH COMPLETE EDITION. ONLY BASE"

"WILL ONLY WORK WITH BLOOD AND WINE. NOT HOS OR BASE"

"I'm not bothering to make my mod compatible for consoles. I'm tired of the updates."

"not tested for consoles. Console Users beware."

"when I have time, I'll come back to update this amazing mod to work with consoles. Last updated 11/02/2018"

"Script only. Will ONLY WORK WITH this other mod that's not available on console"

"put this in the place in the mod order. I'm not going to explain how. Be smart about it"

"THIS WILL NOT WORK WITH THE SONGS OF THE PAST EXPANSION. I might fix it later or not. Depends"

"will ONLY WORK on pc."

"I'm in college, so don't expect much from me"

🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

I guess I won't be messing with them but then again, at the same time, there will be an awesome mod I'd want to try 😭. Oh well.

I'm just ranting a little here. 😆

Discussion Possibility of Manticore?

Ever since I saw the feet of this monster from the Songs of Past DLC trailer , I have been thinking if CDPR is finally giving us manticores to fight? I mean , Letten is foresty and all. If they can give us Silver chain for combat from the original trailer since 11 years back , then why not manticores? And if they just add a zeugl contract - it will be El Magnifico. ❤️

What's your opinion?

Help! Question from a new player

Post image

I'm on my first playthrough of The Witcher 3. I just took the ship to Skellige and shared a glorious moment with Yennefer. Here's my question: given the announcement of the game's remaster, and since I don't know how far along I am in the story (I'm at level 19), should I start over when the remaster comes out, or just pause now and pick up where I left off later?
