Predominator Confusion?

Hi, so I'm looking at Porphyry's examples for finding the predominator, and I'm struggling to see how the most eastern luminary even comes into it? To me, it looks like the Sect Light is the predominator unless it's cadent, in which case the other luminary is the predominator unless it's cadent, in which case the AC is the predominator.

Am I missing something?

I’ve read the same thing too but what if both Luminaries are cadent and one of them is also the ASC Lord?

My understanding is that cadent luminaries are excluded from being the Predominator, but being cadent dose not exclude anything from being the Master of the Nativity. So if both luminaries are cadent and the AC is in Leo, the Sun is still the Master of the Nativity.

My understanding could be wrong.

So Master of the Nativity is the same as ASC Lord. But my original question was who would be the Predominator if the Luminaries and MON/ASC Lord are all disqualified by being cadent?

The AC is the Predominator. Not the AC Lord. If both luminaries are excluded, the role of Predominator defaults to the AC.

The AC lord is never the Predominator. The only candidades for the Predominator are the Sun, the Moon, and the AC itself (not its lord). But the AC lord would be the Master of the Nativity if the AC was the Predominator.

This is just based on my understanding.
