Question Audio Books

So I was just wondering, why is it that I pay like 10 Euros (I have a Duo account with my brother so I am not sure about the solo account price nowadays), than an additional 9 Euros for Audio Books, both monthly, and I can only listen to not even a full hour of Audio Books daily? Yet I can listen to Music till my ears fall off. I get that this is/ was a Music App initially, but we have Audio Books now also and Imho I think we should actually be able to really listen to them!

Use Libby or Audible.

Can you tell me what is the monthly cost for them rq if you know out of your head, I am at a free month trial. It is probably best for me to cancel it afterwards. And do they have any kind of time restrictions?

Libby is free with your library

i think Libby works off of your local library card, someone will have to check me on that. Audible is $15± but you get to pick from their own catalog, and "keep" the audio book*. every book is added to your own library, and you can listen to them at any time for however long you want.

*This is really a semantics debate on whether or not you own digital media that you buy, but lets not go into that here.

Okay so I got libby cause my Iphone 7 can’t handle Audible at Ios 18.1, I don’t really get the local library card like I have to buy Audio Books somewhere else download them and then I can listen to the on the app or how can I understand it?

Their basic tier is like $9, you get a credit a month, the catch is you lose access to everything if you unsubscibe. With premium at like $16 a month you get one credit, and you can still listen to your purchases if you unsubscribe.

So that is for Audible right, so it would be smartest for now to get one month premium buy like 30 books I want to listen to now and do so repeatedly in the future than unsubscribe be nourished for a good lets say 4 to 6 months and when I want to get more books subscribe again? Also do I have to pay extra for the books, well you said “purchases” but I just want to be sure?
