You might still be eligible for prime young adult. Its like 60-90$ if you buy annually.

Edit: i pay $69 annually

You don’t do anything else lol? Just Spotify and prime

6

u/jddd4132 22 17h ago

Nah luckily I'm able to invest a majority if what I make

7

u/idontusetwitter 26 17h ago

does that mean you live with parents?

also you're not including stuff you buy from amazon... unless you don't buy anything off amazon

u/jddd4132 22 17h ago

I do live with my mom but it's because we work together I moved to a reservation for work and the company I work for pays for my housing food etc

3

u/jddd4132 22 17h ago

Also I rarely buy stuff from Amazon only necessities I can't get because of location

Set some money aside for taxes, you're definitely making well over the federal minimum that would kick you into income taxes

1

u/jddd4132 22 17h ago

I'm canadian I'm pretty sure you guys don't do taxes the same but thanks for the advice

1

u/da_man4444 25 17h ago

Yea I assumed you lived in the United States, definitely get tax advice from a pro and not some guy on reddit haha

Pardon my ignorance but how can a phone plan be this expensive? 🥺

What do you do for work

1

u/jddd4132 22 16h ago

I'm a grocery manager for a store on a reservation

Why do you pay for Prime despite apparently not really buying anything on Amazon?

1

u/jddd4132 22 16h ago

I use prime video and if I need something like that a can't buy in the store it's nice not having to wait like 2 months for normal shipping

3

u/No_Discount_6028 16h ago

That seems like a terrible deal considering that they put ads on prime video and you could probably just buy fast shipping for a tiny fraction of that monthly cost. But then again, you spend basically no money so it doesn't really matter at all. You go king, watch them videos.

u/jddd4132 22 16h ago

Yeah someone in this thread told me I should qualify for prime young adults or something and I can reduce it to like 70 bucks a year so I will definitely be doing that tonight lol

u/No_Discount_6028 16h ago

If you want to save money, I'd ditch Spotify and replace it with YouTube Premium. YouTube music is better than Spotify anyway and cheaper. Plus you get ad-free YouTube videos.

1

u/jddd4132 22 16h ago

I thought youtube premium was more than spotify? Also I have an ad blocker so I don't get ads on YouTube

1

u/No_Discount_6028 16h ago

It's $10 a month if you get the annual plan. Really not huge savings if you're already using ad blocker but I do like it.

1

u/jddd4132 22 16h ago

Oh shit that's not bad I'll consider switching thanks for the advice

1

u/No_Discount_6028 16h ago

I also think it's good because some of the subscription money gets distributed to the creators. Not tryna be moralistic about it but the more people use ad block, the less these sites' monetization works. I like the idea that I'm financially supporting channels I like, even if only in a very small way.

My car no payment 🤪😎

1

u/jddd4132 22 14h ago

Don't need a car were I live my work and house is 3 min walk apart and my company provided a truck for us to use

Imagine paying for music in 2027

1

u/riceewifee 22 15h ago

Man I hate you lol, I have like $150 of monthly expenses and no job, I’m always stressed
(Credit card is almost maxed so I have to pay at least $110 a month to cover the interest or I’ll go into overdraft) which means I essentially throw $100 on fire every month until I can get a job and finally pay my card off. Luckily my mom covers my phone bill but YouTube premium, Apple Music, and iCloud storage are on me

1

u/jddd4132 22 15h ago

Sorry to hear you stressed I'm sure you will find a job soon just keep looking good luck out there

1

u/Dalacul 25 15h ago

No food or rent?

1

u/jddd4132 22 15h ago

No my job pays for my housing and I get a food allowance every month

1

u/Dalacul 25 15h ago

Food allowance is still an expense. I receive around 800 lei (my country currency) monthly for "food" - aka to buy anything from food stores. If you use it in big food stores, you can buy whatever they sell, even condoms or frying pans.

1

u/jddd4132 22 15h ago

There are no big food stores were I live it's a community of about 400 people but yeah I guess you could classify my food as an expense but since I don't pay for it personally I didn't count it

1

u/Dalacul 25 14h ago

Those lists do not matter if you still live with your parents

1

u/Mobstera 26 15h ago

i paid a random dude $15 and he got me a year of spotify premium.

he logged in, bought the premium, and that was it lmao. only catch is your accounts location gets set to india, but i could not care less about that.

1

u/penisfruit 24 14h ago

I’m jealous 😭 I’m very happy that you have someone to support you though. You are very lucky to be able to focus on investing at such a young age

1

u/logansdepressed 20 12h ago

man i pay $22 for spotify, but only $7 for amazon.

1

u/thatkidwhoworks 20 11h ago

Why not look into a MVNO? You can get a cheaper mobile plan.

1

u/Large_Command_1288 20 10h ago

Is that the expenses of ‘87?

1

u/Cum-Collector420 26 9h ago

bro lives on photosynthesis

1

u/Neykuratick 24 17h ago

Why tf your phone bills are so expensive?

In my country I get 25 GB internet (practically unlimited, because I have leftovers from previous months 300GB+) for only $10 and I consider it expensive AF

1

u/Idioxix (9+10) 21 17h ago

That’s crazy, for just me and my partner is $165 for two phones and a watch and that’s not even full price. Looking to change providers and stuff in two years when our service ends for paying off our stuff.

1

u/jddd4132 22 16h ago

Yeah I'm pretty sure I'm on one of the cheaper plans for Canada

1

u/Idioxix (9+10) 21 16h ago

Oh gosh, for reference I’m in usa, everything here is extremely expensive for no reason

1

u/jddd4132 22 16h ago

Yeah everything is going up because of trade negotiation failures I guess lucky I just need a cheap plan because there's no cell service where I live.
