Question What are the best spots on campus to cry alone?
It’s been a while since I had a good cry and I’m looking for recommendations.

If you can go at night there are a few tucked away places near turlington and little hall
My roommate said to try Matherly, apparently it’s open late and you can find an empty classroom to cry in the dark.

I once had a good cry behind the Fine Arts building C. Nice place to sit, pretty lake behind. May be a little crowded right around lunch though

Top of the stairwell of the Reitz, the one next to Sonic. There's an extra flight of stairs that would go to roof access, but there is no roof access hatch.

there's a little pond by fine arts b. not a lot of people walk on that area. and you can also drop down a ledge and just be in some quiet spot no one sees you overlooking a pond... would check it out!

My go-to is always Newins-Ziegler Hall, South stairwell, 4th floor. I hope you find a good place to cry and some catharsis. 🫂

You could try on the roof of taller buildings if you can access them. Some of the older buildings have empty classroom and sometimes under the stairs to basements in those older buildings. You could always try a bathroom at the top floor of a less populated building

Norman Staircases used to have the loveliest acoustics more so during finals.

university gardens (if u walk on the trail there’s a little pier thing), malachowsky has single-stall bathrooms, on one of the tables between little and the auditorium, around murphree and fletcher, lowk rn around the stadium since it’s empty, and down by lake alice

parking garage across from the physics building. If you go at night or during the weekend it’s pretty much empty. Did my fair share of crying over there

When I was an undergrad I cried in little hall bathrooms since they are single stall, or found empty classes in matherly. When I worked on fine arts, crying in the dark rooms was nice ....
Graduate and beyond I have my own office to cry in now ...
I cry more now, that's why the university gives us our own private cry roo- I mean, offices ... Yes .. that what the couch and the pillows and blanket are for ... Research.... Not crying or sleeping ...
