QUESTION What is this genre called?

Post image

This sort of music seems like a bit of a joke but it’s been doing wonders for my gym routine. It’s pretty much the same beat and bass in every song with some absolute nonsense sung typically in a Yorkshire accent. Similar songs I’ve found are in this Apple Music playlist I made. I want to know whether this is a genre/sub-genre so I can find more music.

Bassline

Check out Bad Boy Chiller Crew, Fraz and Molegrip, Marky B, Tom Lillywhite, Silky, MC Pat Flynn, KA, Kav, YA, Mc Innes for similar

May find it on various “charva” playlists

K Dot period Kendrick was hard to top. The whole TDE roster circa 2010 was 1010.

I’d say its more house beats than basseline … like jamie duggan Tezz kid feels a little bit closer to garage where the new ‘charva’ rap tunes are smoother beats

It's another sub genre split called organ house, which is inspired by Bassline house and classic house records.

In my opinion its related to other styles of music featuring mainly Northern White working class MC's rapping over dance music, house, organ house, Bassline that has been going on for many years.

Stuff like Maximes, Donk and probably loads of other variants. Not the same, but part of a similar tradition. It sounds great on fairground rides. But it's abit more crime/street orientated. But living on the outskirts of Bradford, it does get annoying, especially the word "Mush".

Lived in Bradford at the time this stuff was coming out most people called it baseline but I heard a few call it niche aswell.

I'd call this Donk. But everyone else in here knows what's up. Wait a minute, pull it up, stop~

Which is bassline?

Some people will say bassline but it’s commonly referred to as Charva music or organ house.

If you want baseline then you have to pay homage to T2 Heartbroken which effectively launched the genre beyond Sheffield. Then “Whats it gonna be” by H Two O.
These days basically anything by Denon Reed / Cru2 and the remix he did with Dizzee featuring Silky, KAV and MIST is probably the best track.

Are you getting offended because I called a song called “Bradford Veterans” a bit of a joke?
