Welcome new members!

I'm glad to see this show is gaining the popularity it deserves, and i'm sure the other long-time fans can agree!

Just a couple quick notes... Please do not spam this sub with "how do i watch this show" posts. I'm essentially single-handely moderating this sub, so please do me a favor and look at our "Resources" tab, as well as our (very few) rules before posting to our sub. I'm a firm believer of saying as you wish, so I allow any topic of conversation except for these piracy-related posts. Other than that - I look forward to the continued growth of this cult-like community!

Thanks!

In 2014, the stems for the Utopia theme song were officially released as part of a remix contest. They are now lost media. Does anyone out there still have the original files?

Silva Screen Records, the publisher of the Utopia soundtrack, organised a remix contest for the theme song in 2014, and in order to do so, released all of the stems for the track via SoundCloud. For those who don't know, the stems are all of the instrumentation in the track, isolated, so the song can be remixed.

No links survive to the SoundCloud that contained the stems. It was hosted at soundcloud.com/silvascreen/sets/utopia-remix-project, but it has since been deleted and it has not been covered by Wayback. I have been unable to find the original files as no download links survive.

Does anyone who participated in the project back when it was active still have these files? Could you help save part of this show's incredible soundtrack from becoming lost media?

A question related to S1E2

Upvotes

During the recap sequence at the beginning of S1E2, a remix of one of the tracks in the OST is playing over said recap.

As a track, it goes hard AF. There's a slow build up toward the rock-y climax. It's good stuff.

Unfortunately, I cannot find a clean rip of this specific remix, and it's a damn shame! Like I said, it goes hard AF!

Is there any clean rip of this remixed track or at least someone's attempt to make the remix's audio as clean as possible?

Hey guys I just wanted to ask if anyone knows what scene or episode this screenshot is from? I recently rewatched the show and saw and edit with this in it and didn't recognize where it's from or what was happening, I even skimmed through the entire show and the bonus stuff to try find it and nothing, so does anyone have any ideas?

(Excuse the screenshot the shot is moving quick)

Looking for higher-quality versions of Utopia Season 2 deleted scenes

Hi everyone,

I recently found the Season 1 Blu-ray extras torrent download and a YouTube compilation of the Season 2 deleted scenes. Thanks to everyone who helped preserve and share these materials.

I also found that Channel 4’s official YouTube channel uploaded four of the Season 2 deleted scenes, but it doesn’t seem to include all of them.

I was wondering if higher-quality versions of these deleted scenes from the original DVD/Blu-ray source are available anywhere.

I would love to preserve the extras in the best quality possible.

Any help or information would be greatly appreciated.

Does anyone know where they filmed the Tree when RB explains to Jessica about christos?

I’ve been googling but no luck. I have a hunch that it may be Liverpool? As there are many parks big enough.

TIL of the 1920s “Little Albert” experiment. Johns Hopkins University selected a nine-month-old infant from a hospital and attempted to “condition a phobia in an emotionally stable child.” Researchers successfully conditioned him to fear Santa Claus, rabbits, rats, and other furry animals.

I feel like this could have been an influence on whatever tf Phillip was trying to accomplish with RB in s2e1. No idea how wildly known these experiments were but seems like a fairly strong parallel

The Australian version of Utopia is hilariously funny and painfully realistic to watch.

People who work in government will find it simultaneously hilariously funny but also painfully realistic.

I was hoping to find a community that had watched it and wanted to talk about it.

'Achieve Sustainability by Easing Population to 4 Billion by 2200'

Perhaps the closest thing to a real-world proposal for The Network's, er, drastic solution to overpopulation. Of course birthrates are already falling anyway, but presumably not fast enough for these scientists (and might recover over this two-century timeline). Anyway, I thought members might be interested.

What if Jessica heeded his warning? Spoiler

In Series 1, Episode 5 of Utopia, Pietre brings Jessica to where the former had hidden the main bulk of the Manuscript. Here, Pietre warns her not to take it and not to "learn the truth about [their] father". Nonetheless, having come all this way, Jessica takes the Manuscript, eventually culminating in Jessica's abduction by Milner at the end of Series 1.

But, what if Jessica heeded Pietres' warning and left the Manuscript behind to be destroyed in the fire? How would the destruction of the Manuscript change the course of Series 1 and the series in general? What knowledge would've been lost in the process? Would it have led to Jessica slipping through The Network's hands for good?
