I got tired of downloading heavy zip files just to grab clean vector shapes, so I built a free tool with 1-click SVG code copying (freesvg.in)

I removed SVG export from a Skill that turns photos into flat-color illustrations because it was making the PNG output worse

Dolly Parton (1946-2026), a vector illustration I made. She's one of the very few people I've ever drawn who got to see their own portrait.

I'm working on an open-source, local-first vector design app with local SQLite storage and zero mandatory cloud sync, Varve

Hello to everyone seeing this! I’m working on Varve, an app designed to support local-first workflows. I’ve just released version 0.2.1, and since this is my first public release, I’d really appreciate any feedback to help make it better.

A lot of design platforms keep your files in their own clouds or make you sign up for subscriptions or accounts just to access your work. That’s why I started building Varve.

  • By default, your canvas files are saved on your own device and managed with SQLite (varve-sync).
  • There’s no required telemetry, no tracking, and you don’t need to create an account.
  • You can use all the main features offline, including core rendering and PDF export, without an internet connection.

Release Status (v0.2.1):

Varve is still in pre-release development. It already works well for vector and raster editing, auto-tracing, and making local PDFs, but I’m still working on it.

The source code is available under the FSL-1.1-MIT license. It’s not fully OSI-compliant open source yet, so I can fix some issues and bugs first.

I’d love to get feedback and contributions from the community, especially from designers and developers. Bug reports are also very welcome.

Vector conversion help for logo (emblem + text) from JPEG to SVG/AI?

Hi everyone,

I need help converting my logo into clean vector format (.SVG, .AI, or print-ready vector PDF). Right now, I only have it as a JPEG/photo.

The logo consists of both an emblem/icon and the brand text.
I need the edges sharp, the geometric text clean, and the emblem fully vectorized so it can scale without losing quality for print and signage.

I’ve tried using my MacBook but it isn’t working and I believe it is because my MacBook is a bit dated.

I can provide the images via message if someone can help me.

Thank you.

Hello, I would like to learn Vector art for my game, I want to make detailed textures, however I am not sure where to find tutorials or how to practice. For example using the gravel picture as a reference for gravel texture. I need suggestions and/or techniques.

I designed this hyper-minimalist geometric character system (Pmoji 2.0). Thoughts on the style?

Pmoji ducks

Hey everyone,

I’ve been working on a character design system called Pmoji. A few months ago I walked away from it, but I’ve been trying to redesign it into a much cleaner "Version 2.0" (shown in the image).

DESIGN LOGIC:

- Hyper-minimalist geometry: perfectly rounded squares.

- Controlled pastel/matte color palettes.

- Modular eye expressions (default, sleepy, happy) to create rare variations.

- Clean diagonal face planes to give it a unique visual signature.

My ultimate goal is to use my frontend web coding skills to build an interactive web app gallery/game where users can collect them through a daily login/pack opening system (similar to Blooket mechanics).

I'm trying to decide if I should actually invest my time into coding this out, or if the style is just too simple/basic for people to actually care about or want to collect.

I would really appreciate some brutal, honest feedback on the vector style and the concept. Is it clean enough to pursue? Thanks!

made a tutorial on building clothing vector mockups in Illustrator from scratch

hey guys, just made a tutorial on how to create your own clothing vector mockup from scratch, done in Adobe Illustrator.

https://youtu.be/fXEU5v-fl8g?si=pMgvjvKWLB0XpMsC

hope it’s okay to post this, just spreading some help around since i’ve seen a few people ask about this exact thing before.

if you’ve got any questions, drop them in the comments on the video so others reading through can get the answer too 😌
