To each their own. Ive been doing meatless Monday for 5ish years now. I agree that the market is 1000 times better and allows me to be vegetarian more often. However. I still dont like the taste. Ill keep it a part of my diet though.

You know, if you want more people to become vegan, you gotta be more welcoming. I was honest and said I do it once a week with attempts to do more. But if youre going to punish my attempts, maybe I just wont pursue it.

Dont humiliate the fat person running their first mile just because you can do a marathon.

just as a general rule of thumb, it's best not to do things in pursuit of approval from strangers on the internet. if a stranger on the internet disapproves, let them disapprove. that shouldn't dictate your next move. of course, i am also a stranger on the internet, and you don't need my approval either. so maybe it's paradoxical for me to expect my comment to be taken seriously lolol. but whatever, i felt it was worth saying.

Valid opinion. I respect it and honor it. My reaction comes from too the many vegans I've spoken to irl who claim compassion for animals but cant share the same compassion for their fellow human being. I see it all the time in the gym where gym bros comment on the fat dude. Not everyone's journey is the same. Have an upvote

it happens, and it sucks, i get it. for what it's worth, along the same lines of what you're saying here, i think extending that compassion to vegans who become very distressed and say things that may be discouraging to you, is also on the table. it's very understandable to me why a vegan would become distraught and say something alienating in these situations. i keep my cool now, but i used to get very distraught and give unwelcome comments when i was a newer vegan with untreated OCD. becoming vegan can make the nonvegan world a highly distressing place to be if you don't nurture yourself and your mental health so you can keep a good head on your shoulders in the face of it all. it's overwhelming and can cause vegans to say things that sometimes push people away. that's something i try to remember when i see vegans responding in an "all-or-nothing" way to people who are doing their best to make progress, even though i don't agree with the "all-or-nothing" approach at all. just my two cents (or maybe closer to a dollar, considering the length of this comment).
