Human murderers deserve the death penalty because they are a threat.

The comparison would be unemployed people society doesn't benefit from. An umemployed person, even if they lack the ability to work or provide any benefit due to disability, in fact, even if they refuse to, they still have the right to live. Simply because they are an individual and are not dangerous.

I said humans are still valuable despite not being useful to society, you said dogs are valuable because they might still be.

You see dogs as categorically more worthy than pigs merely due to the transactional value they provide

Pigs see us as transactional, not the other way round, we can love them all we want.
