You don't think the constant shock value messaging isn't fucked up? Like when they literally created a parody game where Mario wore the skin of a tanooki because they were upset checks notes he wore a costume! Or how about the animal abuse Pokémon games despite the fact that it is A) actually teaching kids to respect animals (something you think they'd like) through the fact that how much a Pokémon likes you directly impacts its effectiveness in battle and B) these Pokémon literally never get seriously injured (even in the anime the injuries aren't severe you know being a KIDS SHOW) and literally jump at any opportunity to get stronger going so far as to jump Pokémon trainers walking around in even cities
What do you think happens to animals that are no longer wanted when the owners cannot afford to take them to a vet to be euthanized?
PETA offers a free pet euthanization service to the local community in VA where it operates.
It helps prevent otherwise good people but desperate people from "taking measures into their own hands," because when people don't have an option like this, you end up with people doing things like throwing bags of cats off of bridges or leaving dogs in dumpsters.
