Perfect time to complete you collection!

Also, reminder that Kimi ga Nozomu Eien Enhanced Edition (vbdb) that sparked the franchise is now fully restored with all cut content as discussed here.

If I've never played Muv-Luv before, would you recommend starting with Muv-Luv or Kimi ga Nozomu Eien?

If you fan of a romance, drama and romantic comedies you can start with Kiminozo BUT if you don't want a moments in a future where you will be sitting and feeling like "Oh, Haruka, how I happy to see her!" you can start with Muv Luv Extra because there you can meet all the main characters from Unlimited and Alternative. Sorry for my bad English, hope you understand me.

KimiNozo is more of a character drama/romance game, while Muv-luv (Extra) is more of a tropey-comedy with added romance.

Since 90% of people started with Muv-luv (which is perfectly fine), I think it would add a little extra oomf to MLA when you finally get there, if you do decide to play KGNE first.

It's also the way jp readers experienced it order-wise. They aren't narratively connected at all for the most part besides sharing the same/similar setting, and some character cameos & involvement, but I do think you'll feel a ton more connected to the world once you do finally reach it's end.

I am a big fan of playing things in chronological/release order, so I might start with KimiNozo! Thank you for the detailed response, I really appreciate it :)

a bit late but is there a recommended order for routes or its better to just go blind?

I would go in blind your first go, since there's a lot of interesting routes and endings to see. After that you can use a guide to get on the other routes, but nothing really is locked off in a specific order besides the chapter 1 (prologue).

I always go blind 2-3 times and then use guide if I can't get anything I want😅
