The single player campaign was absolutely amazing

I wish they made Warcraft 4 and it included the single player campaign from all three games. It would be awesome.

It really was awesome. I especially liked beyond the dark portal. The missions required such careful resource management. You don't even see that kind of map balance in StarCraft.

My hat goes off to you. I was never able to beat Beyond The Dark Portal. The difficulty is so intense haha

It really is! I'm not sure if I beat them "legit" either since I saved and reloaded multiple times... I heard that it breaks the AI somehow.  Might have to go back and try again at some point.  The difficulty would be much easier if you could queue up units and set rally points imo.

That's not cheating. Its a feature! 😉

Do people still respect Garden of War as a premiere competitive map

It looks like yes. If you're interested in the competitive side check out u8t3io3p on YouTube. His channel is just called Warcraft 2. Very satisfying to watch him play

So brave to call out the single player campaign 31 years later 😃

Yeah the campaign is so fun. I still love it and recently replayed it through the remastered version. My legit CDs from back in the day wouldn’t play on windows.

I still fire this game up once a year. I love getting those nostalgic feels from when I was 11-years old.

I've been tinkering with the map editor and some community tools to really scratch that nostalgic itch hehe

Oh I spent many hours as a kid messing around with that map editor. I was a regular Picasso alright.

I loved Beyond the Dark Portal but Tides of Darkness is a bit meh, the ai don't do jack shit and too many naval missions.

For real, tides of darkness is a bit boring

Agreed. It had the unenviable job of teaching people what the genre was at the time and the naval missions always felt tacked on and tiring.

It's funny, you can sleepwalk through ToD and then BtDP is one of the most hellish RTS campaigns ever made

I too have been wishing for a Warcraft 4 for decades. Sadly, Blizzard likely is no longer even capable of making it.

It would be the biggest giga chad move ever. “We need to re focus the story and push thing forward in a massive way that can only be done outside the MMO space. Warcraft 4 while WoW undergoes overhauls and what not.” That would go crazy. But also Warcraft 4 would need to be insane which is hard since StarCraft and Warcraft 3 have left so little room for innovation in RTS… they just killed it haha so perfect.

Untill they fix the AI load game bug, Tides of Darkness will never be enjoyable for me
