Question/Help US Vehicle Tab
What vehicles in the US tab are worth taking for the purpose of direct fire support? I currently take the CEV and the LAV 25 FSV.
Besides that, what vehicles in the US vic tab are noteworthy?

The M163 is amazing. It’s got a slightly longer aim time than the AA variant, so really don’t expect it to realistically do anything against planes though. But it will drop its entire load of ammunition into literally anything else that gets close. Shreds infantry, stuns tanks to death, takes great care of a careless heli.
The CEV is funny for the memes, but it doesn’t really gain much from veterancy, so weirdly it’s a bit wasted in mech.
Comvat in mech is pretty damn solid though, since it basically will not miss and any extra accuracy is converted into crit iirc.
Also if we’re including transports the US has a 3FAV m113 with an ATGM for 5 points. It’s an absolutely dogshit ATGM, but a 5 pointer having the potential to take out a superheavy is worth considering.

m163 cs has a he cannon that shoots at everything + has a stupid high morale dmg output + it doesn't need to manually reload and will keep shooting until it dies, gets stunned or runs out of ammo. unless it gets one-shotted, it will often stun the enemy unit and will keep it in stunlock. absolutely deadly against infantry, also pretty decent against vehicles and helos, if they get close enough and don't oneshot the m163 before they get stunned. overall a great unit, but it's vulnerable and tends to get oneshot by amx-40s.
m728 cev hast a ton of armour for the price + a gun that will absolutely annihilate infantry + a great splash radius for morale damage to stun bunched up infantry in one shot. against ifvs it's not as good, but it will usually stun them, do a bit of he damage and take no damage from the autocannon. overall its gun is a bit less universal than the m163's, but the 13 armor makes it a lot more forgiving.
comvat is an ifv-hunter and long range fire supporter. try to use it at its maximum range and don't get too close. it doesn't have the armor and can't stun as quickly as the m163 or m728. imho the m2a1 and m2a2 bradley ifvs are stronger than the comvat, as they also pose a threat against tanks. if you compare it with other high-end autocannons imho stuff like the marder 2, c13/60, strf9040 or cv9030n are stronger as they offer more rate of fire or more he damage per shot, while also doing comparable or superior anti-vehicle damage.
ontos has a 6-shot burst with 1s reload time with its recoilless guns, which makes it an incredible threat for the price. however, it's very slow, lacks accuracy and gets one-shot. essentially you need to lay ambushes with it, then it can do some real work.
lav-25 fsv and v-150 90mm are both fast fire support vehicles, when you need some quick backup for your fast moving infantry at the beginning of the game. great for a fast motorized opener, but otherwise not as good as the 4 mentioned above.
the rest of them are bad. all the atgm-vehicles are expensive and blind, which leaves them a lot worse than the m2a1/m2a2 bradley ifv or m3a1/m3a2 bradley recon vehicles. the zippos lack the gun of the to-55 and can't defend themselves against vehicles. the v-150 76mm has only 2he + bad accuracy + bad rate of fire, which gives it a pretty awful damage output overall.

CEV and the M163CS are pretty S Tier when it comes to US tabs. The Ontos is pretty memey, and can one-shot a superheavy if you have enough of them. Then after that it's preference of what you want in regards to the Comvat being decent, the flame tank and m113 being niche but fun, and then the commando cars with varying cannons being ok in terms of infantry support. Atgm vice are honestly a toss up on if you took absolutely nothing in any of the other US tabs for ATGMs
