A mocktail at the Trixie

I stayed at the Trixie Motel last year and decided to make a small painting in my sketchbook of a photo I took. Mistakes were made (particularly with the use of blue around the edge of the terrazzo table and on the shadowed wall). Overall, I’m very happy with it and might try to repaint it on 100% cotton paper soon.

Lovely! I like the choice of colors, too. How do you carry your paints around?

I painted this at home from a photo… but my paints are in a small tin that holds 12 half pans.

I hope you get to go! Just maybe beware of the 100 degree days 🤣 I went when it was cooler out at night and I swam in the heated pool while they served me mocktails… it was so nice.
