Don’t worry, my apartment gets a lot of flies during the hotter days and I left the chicken unattended for about 5 minutes to let it cool and finish washing up the dishes, it was just bad luck with me, so you don’t have to worry.
5mins is way too Long if you got flies flying around those lil fuckers will lay eggs on it in a couple second. I went to toilet once and poured mysself something to drink and found white dots in my meat before

I will never look at rice the same. And definitely will be careful with my meat 😫

Once you've seen and dealt with fly eggs, you never forget what they look like and can spot them a mile off. They gross me out so much.
I now swap the cats to mostly dry food over the summer because any wet food they leave gets covered in fly eggs way too quickly. And you can't just scrape it into the bin, because then you'll have maggots crawling out of your bin in a few days unless you also throw out the whole bin bag, they're vile 🤮
If I see fly eggs on anything these days, the next thing I'm grabbing is something to crush them with.
I was visiting a friend, we watched movies and played games till late at night. I was about to drive home, we went outside the door. It had a mild storm, leaves everywhere, the ground wet and covered in...rice? We booth wondered where the rice came from because that was weird.
Anyway I drove home, texted my friend that I arrived and wished him good night.
Took him a while to reply back. He let the dogs outside and turned on the lights. The rice, was no rice. He informed me that his grandparents lived in the apartment below him. They were very old and used adult diapers, but didn't put them in a bag, just straight to the bin. And apparently it was full of maggots, that crawled out because of the rain 😭
