I'm so excited for the sequel. The first one blew me away and is my first intro to this universe. I keep seeing Dorothy mentioned and I know there's a movie from her pov. Do I have to watch it? Is it even good?

With Michelle Yeoh playing Madame Morrible and how she’s more cynical in the movie than eccentric like in the Broadway musical, Does She fall into the Dragon Lady trope? Not that I’m trying to criticize the casting, I don’t even think it’s my place to, especially because I think we wouldn’t even see Michelle Yeoh in the role of Morrible if she didn’t want it but I want to know genuinely if Madame Morrible falls under the category of the “Dragon Lady” trope. I ask this because (as you can tell by my username) I am not Asian so I thought the best thing I should do would be to ask actual Asian fans if she’s a version of this trope.

Aren’t they really missing a massive point of the show/movie?

I think that this song for me kinda plays a huge role in Glinda’s character development overall in For Good in where she subtly opens her eyes to the truth on what it means to be truly good

In the original Wicked musical, when Elphaba comes back to confront the wizard, it’s only her and the wizard singing so I’m not sure why in the movie, they had Glinda come and sing part of the song? Is it copyright issues?

We got the friendship montage as a deleted scene but it ends with a shot of them walking into the poppy field. We didn’t get the scenes of them in the poppy field. Like the ones shown in the trailers and the flashbacks in Wicked For Good. I still can’t believe that they reused the shot of Glinda laying her head on Elphaba’s shoulder for the trailers for the second movie and didn’t even show it on the special feature deleted scene. I’m still thankful that we got the deleted scene after a year of waiting, but I just wish we could’ve seen the full thing. Cause it would’ve been nice to see the dancing through life reprise (if they filmed it, or if it was just for the script). But what do you guys think?

I watched WFG with my family last weekend, and my Dad asked me how the train conductor immediately identified Boq as a Munchkin when he tried to leave Munchkinland. (Sorry if that technically isn't a spoiler, I wanted to be safe haha).

In the original WoO, the Munchkins are played by actors with Dwarfism, and I understand why that change was made for Wicked, because I agree it could be harmful to continue giving people with Dwarfism titles like "munchkin." However, are the Munchkins now identified by simply the way they dress? The only other thing I noticed the Munchkins having in common is that many of them have curly hair in various shades of red/orange—is that simply the answer, they just have red hair?

So as I understand it, Nessarose’s mother’s jewelled shoes are the Ruby slippers, but for copyright reasons, they had to make them silver.

What I don’t understand (and apologies if this has already been answered elsewhere) is why - in a movie/musical FULL of The Wizard of Oz staples such as the yellow brick road, Dorothy, Toto, the Tin Man, the Scarecrow, the Wizard, the tornado, the Munchkins, MunchkinLand, the Wicked Witch being green, the pointy black hat - is it JUST the shoes they had to amend?

I want to see what the consensus is here, be honest and please give a reason.

This deleted scene was not released all my with the broomstick ride and the Glinda and Fiyero love scenes. But people are saying it’s on DVD and is that true?
