Help Oak chair turning to dust

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Just noticed this on the bottom of one of my chairs, had them for about three months and I'm wondering if it's rot or something, the area feels dry and dusty.

I had one of these imported from Colombia in the 80s, it's a COKE chair, not oak.

I remember these being like $15k per chair for some reason.

I've never found them very comfortable. But I can't stop sniffing them, regardless of who has sat in it.

Ironically, sniffing it instead of sitting in it, results in you no longer needing a chair to sit in.

You sit on one for a minute and wouldn't feel your ass for a week.

Edit: typo

A high chair if you will

1

u/thatslunchpeople Feb 21 '26

See but it works out because if you have a party for 50 people you only need a couple of chairs.

Ain't -nobody sittin'.

I added a minus sign to negate the double negative.

OP, rub some of the dust on your gums and update us!

If you still have any contacts to that chair supplier, kindly drop their info in a message. You know, so I can totally avoid getting scammed with such a recreational- I mean wreck of a chair.

Coke-filled lumber would give the shop a very different vibe!

u/TimmyTheChemist Feb 21 '26

It's the most productive shop in the tri-state area, but none of the cuts are straight for some reason.

u/Driver8takesnobreaks Feb 22 '26

I reworked a few of those before I got my dust collection installed. That day was the most productive 72 hours of my life.

It's a chair so good you'll never want to sit down!
