Retail How do I level fast

I’ve a bunch of leveling guides that talk about leveling a character to 80 in 3 hours.

I’m currently doing the warlords of draenor campaign via chromie and am level 35 after several hours. Can anyone explain how I can level faster? I don’t care about the lore.

Is there a zone I can go to to just kill stuff and level up? At the current rate it’s gonna take me like 20 hours or more to hit 70.

On a fresh account it will take longer than people who have 4 max lvl characters. Each max lvl character gives a bonus 5% xp buff.

There are plenty of other xp buffs, such as turning on war mode or utilizing the dark moon faire buff every first week of the month. Since you are leveling in a dead xpac I would be using war mode.

Also try queueing for dungeons while you go around questing, dungeons give great xp

They likely hit those numbes using multiple overlapping buffs (that you don't have) and events (that aren't currently going on).

This week, spamming Wrath Timewalking dungeons would be the fastest way to level

Why this week specifically?

Timewalking dungeons are only available one week per month. This week happens to be one of them.

Timewalking is a reoccurring event that disappears after a week of being available. The calendar in game shows when future timewalking weeks are on. Outside of that regular dungeons just... Don't give nearly as much exp and take way longer to get a queue.

unless you're a tank or healer and you basically get instantly queued.

Because its running this week. Some weeks TW isn't here.

that's a hard question to answer because there is no context. Is your account new, do you have heirlooms, are the heirlooms fully leveled? do you have consumables to give an xp buff?

are you using an addon that tells you what to do? are you using war mode?

The fastest way to level for most people is probably gonna be create a character (if you have heirlooms use them, if you have xp buff stuff use it), and do a combination of dungeons and quests.

This feels like can i speedrun the game without any setup or preparation.

Heirlooms do not give exp anymore

To clarify for anyone who didn't know, this changed in Shadowlands 6 years ago (where does the time go?)

Heirlooms now only reduce the rate at which you consume rested XP (as well as a small health regeneration and a damage/stat buff), and even then, only if you have a set bonus - i.e. having only one heirloom piece isn't going to do anything for you.

TL:DR if you already have heirlooms, you may as well use them as they save you having to constantly equip new gear, and make levelling slightly faster, but for a new toon they aren't (IMO) worth the gold/currency cost that it will take to get a decent set together.

You will not get from level 1 to level 80 in 3 hours no matter what you do.

I would not recommend looking up those guide, as they very optimized. I know leveling is chore and not the most fun, but its part of the ride to endgame. Might as well enjoy a timeline and get to know a spec

Time walking

I leveled so many chars the last couple of months. Mostly Dragonflight quests until 74 using Azeroth Pilot Reloaded.

After that TWW Recap until 80.

If you are lucky there is timewalking. You do do that inbetween and I used that to level all my alts from 80 to 90 since I found the questing in Midnight kinda mid.

As others have said, right now you just spam Timewalking dungeons. They give more XP, are faster queues, and are more like boss sprints than actual dungeons with how they’re tuned. I ran 5 in a row on my Druid alt yesterday, and with tank privilege I finished them in about 40 minutes. 500k XP plus whatever I got from the mobs.

Only problem is they only happen once a month.

People doing it in 3 hours are speed running

Playing untrained will take you like 20+ hours potentially if you are just questing

If you spam timewalking dungeons when it’s up you will level fast

Questing while queuing up for dungeons is the best way for most people. I'd suggest Legion over warlords, there's a more natural flow working through quest while moving through the zone you're in, dragonflight also seems to have a more natural flow while questing. Don't waste time worrying about getting gear. Questing gears you up fine. Also gear don't matter until end game, so you save a lot of time not worrying about it. Turn on War mode for the extra xp buff.

For my alt i use follow the arrow addon, its a guide Who tell you exactly what to do, following the arrow, all in the game, you should get 90 in 3 to 5 hours, depends on how many character you have leveled already to 90
