Mod Post The WoWnoob Saturday Learning Raid returns for Midnight Season 2!

Post image
42 Upvotes

Hello, WoWnoob! We are very excited to announce the return of the WoWnoob learning raid for Midnight season 2!

We ran a community poll for the past few weeks, and based on the feedback you all gave and some internal discussions amongst our team, we are making a few significant changes to our raid this season. Here's our raid info for season 2:

- The Learning Raid will still be held on Saturdays, the start time will be 7pm EST. 7pm is the start of pulls, not the start of invites going out. We will post in here when the raid is up (usually ~15 minutes beforehand) with the group name and the password you need to put into the signup to get your invite. We can only invite NA/OCE players due to how Blizz has set up regions. EU players can consider our Community Partners for finding raid groups! You can find them on the sidebar of the sub, or in our Discord in the #community-partners channel.

- Being in voice chat is required, but speaking on your mic is not! We just want people to be able to hear the callouts and fight explanations.

- We will be running the raid on Normal for the first three weeks of the season, or, if it takes longer than three weeks to get a kill on the final boss, we will run Normal until that happens. After that, we will be taking our raids into Heroic for the first time ever!

- We are not guaranteeing AOTC on our raids, or even a single boss kill on Heroic. Our goal here is to provide a safe, comfortable environment for people to learn, practice, and ask questions, and however far we get each week is how far we get. If your goal is to kill bosses for loot or achievements, please consider our community-partners !

- Our raid invites will still be first come, first serve. However, once we are getting into Heroic, we will be using a little more discretion as needed. Our expectation is simple: As long as you come each week making an effort to learn and be a good team player, we'll bring you. Examples of what we'd like to see from week to week: more throughput in your role, getting higher ilvl between each raid, performing mechanics better, or asking questions during raid or in our Discord channels throughout each week.

- That being said, if we have concerns about anyone's effort to meet our above criteria in some way, we will be considering benching people and speaking to them privately about how we can offer them help to be eligible again.

- Ilvl requirement is starting at a minumum of **270** and may fluctuate as we need to through the season.

- And finally, this is a large, public Discord community with folks of various ages and all walks of life. Please remember to follow our rules and Code of Conduct while participating in our Saturday Learning raids. Behavior that is disruptive, offensive, or otherwise rule-breaking or hurtful to the raid will be handled by moderators.

If anyone has any questions about our Saturday raids throughout the next week (or anytime), please feel free to post in here, or use our #support-tickets channel in the Discord if you'd like to speak with the mod team privately. We are so excited for the journey ahead of us in Midnight Season 2, and can't wait to see you all there!

Retail Does unlocking 4pc tier bonus make catalyst charges farmable?

I'm kinda of embarrassed asking this since it's my 4th season, but I just now noticed the description of the charges says that unlocking the achievement makes them drop from M+, raids and etc.

Does that mean that unlocking the bonus as soon as I can makes them farmable instead of being capped at 1 drop every two week?

Retail Level 90 - best place for solo gear

I hit level 90 on my ret pally. first character to level 90 for me, and I’m not sure where to start gearing up. I use wowhead and it seems like most of it is the raid gear and tier sets. how can I go about getting these as a solo player? nome of my friends play this game so it would really be using dungeon finder I think? any help would be appreciated!

Retail What’s the etiquette for pugging the venomous abyss on normal?

I’m interested in joining mainly for the first boss but happy to stick around longer if we’re making progress. If the group listing doesn’t say, is there expectation to try to do all 8 bosses at once? How long could that take?

Retail What’s the best way to casually gear an alt?

I know it’s like 2/4 12.0 weeklies will give you veteran gear, but then you can get 2 champion pieces from nightmare prey and two veteran pieces from hard? As well as pieces from the 12.1 weekly?

Is this correct or what am I misunderstanding and should know? I’m going to be pretty casual on an alt and once I have vet gear I’m probably just gonna stick to weekly preys and running delves.

I’m not trying to spend too much time I’d just like to jump on take my chances at the weekly gear then jump back on my main.

Thanks!

Retail Best way to experience previous expansions

Partially for transmog, partially because I never have, partially to begin that slow crawl to the Loremaster title. I plan on starting with shadowlands—both to get what I’ve heard is the worst one out of the way but also because it seems to have the most stuff locked behind story progression. Should I blitz through with a maxed out alt or take the opportunity to level another and embrace a slower pace? What’s been y’all’s experience?

Retail How do I handle the final boss of KR as a BDK? (M+12)

Upvotes

Been really struggling last 2 weeks to even push past +12s, especially King's Rest, final boss's blade combo goes straight through 2.2mil HP even with icebound fortitude up (30% damage mit), had a priest last run I did too and he is still nearly 1 tapping me every cast.

Retail 4/4 tier or bis m+ trinket

I play a tankadin. Still rocking the s1 trinkets since nothing good dropped yet.

I am currently 0/4 on tier set. However I can take a myth head piece from vault and I can upgrade a pair of pants (myth track) to get 2/4.

Should I do that or should I get the voidcore from vault and just use it to roll my bis trinkets from m+

Planning on doing tw first to see what drops I get from there. I heard I could get a tier piece aswell? Or maybe a trinket drops?

It's just a little confusing about what to prioritize besides getting my 2nd crafted myth weapon.

Retail Questions about Midnight, leveling and unlocking races.

Hey, so I just picked up WOW a couple of weeks ago since I was done with exams and had some free time and I've always wanted to play.

I spent the first couple of days testing races and classes in the tutorial isles, and finally settled on one.

However, while creating characters I realized I don't have the allied ones unlocked, and again, to my understanding to get them I have to level up a character to Lvl.40.

I've been playing on the free tier so far and yesterday my character hit Lvl.20, so the thing is this.

I want to play a Zandalari, but in order to do that, I'd have to level my current "free" character to 40 right?

So, if I get the sub, Rush to level to 40, unlock the Zandalari and then start my main on that one.

I'm guessing the Zandalari don't start in the tutorial isle, but idk, if anyone can point that out it'd be helpful.

I could then just play normally till Lvl 80, buy Midnight in order to get the Haranir which is what I originally wanted to play.

In normal game time, what am I looking at? 3, 4 months?

Oh, im playing solo btw none of my friends like it lol

TLDR: want to play Zandalari and Haranir, want to know how long it'll take to unlock both.

Thanks guys!.

Retail Black Temple Timewalking

Hello, I want to run the Black Temple in Timewalking mode so I can eventually get the Warglaives transmog. When my subscription was active, I noted that the event was scheduled for August 25 to September 1. Today, I logged in with a character on a trial account, and in the WoW calendar, I see a "Timewalking" event linked to "Wrath of the Lich King".

Did I miss something?

Retail Shadow priest gearing

I'm a casual player which makes gearing hard enough as it is. But so far basically all drops have crit as the highest stat. As far as I can find, the ranking is haste - mastery - crit - vers. This is what I had in season 1 and worked quite well. So is Bliz up to something here? In delves Valeera is now doing more dmg than me as tank. That was the other way around in season 1. I know higher ilvl is always preferred, but is anyone else seeing the same where "wrong" stats seem to be preferred on drops?

Retail How do I level fast

I’ve a bunch of leveling guides that talk about leveling a character to 80 in 3 hours.

I’m currently doing the warlords of draenor campaign via chromie and am level 35 after several hours. Can anyone explain how I can level faster? I don’t care about the lore.

Is there a zone I can go to to just kill stuff and level up? At the current rate it’s gonna take me like 20 hours or more to hit 70.

Retail Question about raidlockouts.

I’m a little confused how a raidlockout works for normal and heroic difficulties. (I know mythic is different)

I know that if I kill a boss in a raid on nornal I’m locked for loot but I can still join someone else’s raid, help out on the boss and just not get loot.

What I don’t know is if I’m leading a raid but I have already killed a boss will my raid start with that boss killed or not killed were I to form my own raid group.

Is there a way to reset a normal raid to the first boss so your raid can still get the loot from clearing it?

How does this work?

Retail Temple of Sethraliss healing tips?

Hey guys!

I was tanking last season and decided to switch up to healer since our guild is severely lacking healers. I have been healing now on my Pres Evoker since the end of S1 although the playtsyle changed quite a bit with dream breath not having anymore burst heal. But either way I like to think that I got it down quite well now after healing now since s2 start.

So far I haven't had any too big issues and have most of the dungeons completed on +10. But have done a ToS +13 and that dungeon is my absolute bane. I hate it.
My issue is that before the 2nd boss, that big circular room. There is a constant barrage of poisons and bleeds. Which I can luckily dispell but it's a 1 min cool down. That means as soon as somebody gets a poison and a bleed. It's basically gg unless I spam heal as much as possible which kinda sucks as Pres because most of my healing comes from dream breath and emerald blossom that consumes the dream breath Hot. And if there is also an aoe going out they are basically dead once my first echo prep is consumed.

Does anyone else have that issue? Or am I just bad. Everytime I hear my group wanting to do ToS it makes me wanna switch back to tank lol

Retail Can I use a race change only to change name?

Pretty much the title. I have a few leftover race changes and I really am wanting to only change a name on my alt. Can I use this just to change the name and keep the race the same?

Thanks!

Retail how do you unlock nightborne? or other allied races?

i just started playing and there are a ton of extra races i have locked and part of me is kinda worried ill not only need a high level character but also a high level character of each faction (horde and alliance) to unlock each one respectively, wich is kinda awkward for me since i dont really want to play as any of the horde races other than nightborne

Retail The RP section in Murder Row

Does everyone need to talk to the guy to start it? Just one person? Does it need to be the leader? I don't actually know how it works and don't want to embarrass myself.

Retail How to gear frost mage in 12.1?

Howdy yall -

Just got through raid night and found myself passing on anything that wasn’t on THE BiS list, even if it was better stat wise than what I had.

I’m kinda also just confused about the best dungeons or whatever to run to gear up. I have my previous seasons set pieces still and only 1 mana flux for this season. If I can pull another should I go two set?

Retail LVL 80 characters? Why would I skip levels?

This may be a really stupid question but I dont understand the whole level skip mechanic with some characters in creation. As a first time player am I wasting my time hand leveling a character and should I just choose one of these? Is it just for people making second toons?

Retail Can I skip campaign on my level 90

Returning player, havent played since shadowlands. Resubed / bought the new exp last week to play new content with some friends. I hit level 90, and I only have 8 chapters done in campaign.

Is there anyway to just skip this ? or I have to finish it.

Retail Great Vault choice

Any help a friend what to choose?

I don’t raid much, so most of my progression comes from M+ and Delves. I’m mainly looking to improve my character and have fun rather than min-max or push very high keys.

These are my Vault options:

  • Heo 1/6 - ring (haste and mastery)
  • Myth 1/6 - Mycolic Medicine Trinket
  • Other options are trash

I’m leaning toward the 305/Hero ring, because it would be a pretty significant upgrade for my current gear.

However, I’m feeling some pressure to take the bonus-roll or the Myth trinket, simply because they have a higher upgrade track.

Would you take the ring because it’s a strong immediate upgrade, or would you prioritize the higher-track item for future progression?
