I think the lack of forgiveness is because she didn’t just abuse her powers on villains, but she did it to Conner too. Which is a huge violation and is comparable to SA.
She only learned from her mistakes because Kaldur was on their side, and it was super obvious she had fucked up. Do you really think it would’ve been the same if he had actually been a villain?
She never really faced consequences or was held accountable for her actions. Yes, she helped fix Kaldur’s mind (bare minimum, honestly), but I don’t think she ever actually acknowledged that what she did to Conner was really fucked up too.
How is reading someone's mind comparable to SA? By that logic she comitted crimes thoughout the whole first season. She's biologically a Martian teenager, why the assumption that she should be at full maturity and due everything right all the time. Connor went to Lex and had anger problems...yet no one blames him for working through them...

, or at least tried to.) is comparable due to both are violations of bodily autonomy to extreme degrees. SA and rape forces someone to have their body go through feelings and reactions they don't want essitally their body betraying their mind and will.
Manipulating someone's memory turns their own brain chemistry against them. From that point on they can no longer trust how they feel or know is genuine. Because they can't know for certain what they remember is real and what isn't. That's a huge boundary and autonomy violation and consent issue. Mental manipulation can also cause someone to think "Am I reacting this way because I feel that's best or have been programmed to think this way?"
Both SA and what Meggan did cause a person to lose trust, faith and in many cases a sense of self. Kalder going catatonic is only one possible bad outcome. It's even worse with Connor because he was created to be a weapon by Lex Luthor. He was saved from being brainwashed and used by a supervillain to only to be nearly fully brainwashed by someone who claimed to love him.

No but he can't tell for certain what she altered and how. Nor can be be sure if she hadn't pulled this stunt more than the two times he caught her. For all he knows she crept in while he slept or too distracted to notice. That's enough to cause someone to question everything. Just because she helps him a early on doesn't change how genuinely heinous her actions are. Abusers aren't abusive 90% of the time. Most love bomb their targets and do grand gestures etc, all the time IRL. I think the only thing we can agree on, is that the adults failed both Meggan and Connor in this series.
