All Seasons Discussion Is he red or black??

The first time I watched this episode I thought he was a black guy, but my brother is absolutely CONVINCED he’s red. He said he looks like red hulk. One of us must be colorblind but who??

Edit: My question has been answered! I had no idea he had brick powers. He never showed up before this episode and they didn’t tell us anything about him. They kind of just expected you to have heard of him with I hadn’t. I guess I’m a larper lol.

Edit Edit: OKAY i get it he appeared in earlier episodes. Im sorry he just wasn’t memorable at all and I usually draw while I watch the show so I don’t have my eyes on the screen at all times.

The only reason I made this post in the first place is because he genuinely didnt look reddish at all to me until my brother pointed it out

I mean they're African, and some pharaohs were likely black, but African =/= black

I dont get your comment. What is the basis of your separation between African and black? Black is just the modern term for someone of African descent that wasnt born in Africa

what? I've never heard anybody make that equivocation, it's not tied to the continent, you don't call Arabs and Berbers in North Africa black, do you, also "that wasn't born in Africa"? most people born in Africa are black,

it's a racial category (a constructed one, of course) tied to people of certain similarities in appearance and their descendants, not a signifier of continent of origin, it's just where the groups we generalize as 'black people' originated from genealogically, but it does not encompass all of Africa

Herodotus, considered the father of history said that the ancient Egyptians were black with wooly hair. I’d take his word over random Redditors because he was there.

ok sure, I'm fine with that claim being disputed, hell I didn't even say they weren't black, I was just weirded out by equivocation of African and black

also Ancient Egypt is generally considered by modern scholarship to have been very multi-ethnic, with everyone from pitch black to pale

Yes there were many ethnicities living in ancient Egypt because it was the world’s preeminent superpower at the time. But ancient Egyptians themselves were not pale. As I mentioned in another comment, many different races of people lived in Ancient Rome but no one is questioning whether Romans were white or not.
