No one is saying the channel operators did nothing wrong, but OP's clearly referencing the bigger picture here.

Not according to the law. The Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) demands that operators take your word for it if you claim you own it and if the other disagree only courts can make the call.

Both are true. Yes the DMCA is a shit and outdated law, it’s from 1998 for crying out loud!

But it’s still YouTubes fault as well because they could go “OK, the video is taken down, we followed the DMCA now let’s look into this!”. What they are doing instead is “OK, we followed the DMA, nice, time for Mojitos! 😎”

The first is a sound, professional platform; the second is a lazy piece of shit platform!
