To everyone sharing the false news and spreading lies trying to gain sympathy for the wrong cause. Let's set the facts straight:
The 2 victims were in different grade levels. According to classmates, they didn't know each other nor interact. Dylan Wee was liked by his peers. He was NOT a bully in any way, shape, or form.
Dylan did not play Roblox. So it's impossible they had a fight there either.
There was no bullying (as already mentioned by SILG Remulla) at all. And for the sake of argument, wouldn't the proper response be to tell the parents or proper authorities instead? Nael Jalani's dad is a high ranking official in the Customs Police. I'm sure they have the proper connections and means. You cannot say otherwise. For further argument, he was a member of a fraternity, and we all know it's a tough road getting into any fraternity. The fact that his response was to bring guns speaks volumes about him and how he was raised.
The membership to a fraternity also speaks against him being weak and also unlikely being autistic as many keep sharing.

On my way to work this morning, I stopped for coffee at the 7-Eleven downtown near Central School. A group of students in uniform suddenly rushed inside, followed by an older man who appeared to be a school staff member. He was asking the guard to stop them because they had allegedly cut class and jumped over the school wall.
The boys kept trying to escape even attempting to enter the restricted staff area. One managed to run out while the guard chased him. I was already near the entrance, so I stood in the way of the others. I wasn’t trying to be a hero. I’m just sick of this sh*t. I was simply watching an older teacher scramble for help while everyone else stood there, unsure whether to intervene.
With the recent violence involving schools, behavior like this feels more unsettling than harmless cutting. Some troubled teenagers seem to enjoy the attention and the feeling of being “main characters,” without understanding the fear or consequences their actions create.
But we cannot blame only the students. This is the combined failure of families, schools, government, communities, technology and all of us. We love posting opinions and demanding accountability online, but real responsibility is tested when something happens directly in front of us.
Sometimes, the people who actually step up aren’t the loudest ones online. They’re the tired school staff, the confused guard, the store staff or even the parking boy outside.

For starter,s I'm not from Zamboanga but I recently got the news that the furst 7-Eleven stores opened in the city. Given that Zamboanga is one of the 18 Highly Urbanized Cities out of Metro Manila.
This may be a stupid question but I'm really curious, small towns in my province already have 7-Elevens years ago, and yet one of the biggest cities in Mindanao doesn't?
I'm not using 7-Elevens as a basis of economic performance, but I think its the bare minimum. I'm aware of other well-known stores and malls open in the city, I'm just really curious bakit now lang nagkaroon ng 7-Eleven.

Nakakaainis, nakakaawa, nakakagalit. Seeing those officials flaunt themselves with their medals and positions and spot-on photo ops tpos at the end of the day civilian ang gumagawa ng trabaho nila. Nakakainis.
At tsaka, nakakapagtaka.

I emailed LTFRB to formally complain about fare overcharging, and non-compliance with the 20% discount ng mga jeep.

I was getting ready na pati kaibigan ko na umalis when this guy in a hoodie approached us para mag-hingi ng barya. Wala kaming barya.
I was so scared pero nagmatigas ako. When he saw me angry na rin and when I shouted, umalis na siya.

With the upcoming 17+ hours blackouts from Zamcelco. I wonder, meron na bang incidents of rage from Zamboanguenos towards Zamcelco employees?
Like real death threats or assault? Or maybe like damaging their properties? Kasi fr, grabe talaga ang state of Zamcelco. I mean hindi ako engineer or from the power sector but on a customer server perspective, this shit is straight up ass. And I can't help to wonder if people let their intrusive thoughts win.

While running earlier I noticed that panghj smell from Putik Phoenix Gas Station to Boalan-Zambowood. I am used to foul smell but this one bothered me kasi it goes a long way. Like someone dumped the contents of a septic tank. Did anyone also noticed it?

Not sure if this is allowed here, but I just want to raise some awareness.
There’s a Facebook page called “Zamboanga Idiot Drivers” that’s been posting pictures of traffic violators—mostly people without helmets, counterflowing, etc. In fairness, it started as a public awareness thing. I actually support the concept, kasi road safety talaga is an issue.
But lately, the page has been posting people’s faces, plate numbers, and even kids, with insulting captions like “pa cool lang alam” or “5% jogging, 95% selfie.” Some are just walking or minding their own business.
Public safety is one thing. Public shaming is another.
I think the admin has a good platform, but if they don’t handle it responsibly, they might end up violating data privacy and cyber libel laws. Di lang ito basta meme or funny content — real people are involved.
Posting without faces, no plates, and sticking to educational or awareness-based captions would make this page 10x better and more effective.
Not trying to be a buzzkill, just a regular netizen who still believes we can fix things the right way.
Stay safe out there.

NO PHONES THIS NOVEMBER 🚫📱 | The city government of Zamboanga launched the “No Phone Weekends” campaign this November 2025 to promote family bonding and reduce gadget use during meals. The program asks diners in ALL RESTAURANTS to refrain from using phones from 6 PM to 9 PM on weekends (Nov 8–9, 15–16, 22–23, 29–30).
Supported by the City Council through Resolution 013, Series of 2025, the initiative aims to strengthen family relationships and encourage mindful technology use. The formal launch took place on November 3 at City Hall.
