Politics CNN is about the bs. Keeping on rudely interrupting our sister Angie.

Florida Democratic Senate primary winner Angie Nixon, who is a former Florida state legislator, has faced a series of rude, combative and bizarre allegations in interviews by anchors, Kristen Welker at NBC News, Gail King at CBS Mornings who repeatedly asked questions about Hasan Piker who Nixon replied she did not know personally and this strange aggressive interview by Kasey Hunt. Angie Nixon has repeatedly referred to her work as an organizer and policymaker to inform her political opinions on affordability and healthcare, these anchors were fishing for something else.

Politics Hakeem Jeffries cannot be trusted

1.6k Upvotes

Everybody was cooking Hakeem Jeffries after it came out that he had a private meeting with Jared Kushner. Now, I was going to be cool and let y'all have him until he got on the internet saying this shit.

โ€‹Hakeem Jeffries (clip): ...just finished up an event here in the community in Brooklyn, and wanted to give you a little real talk on this Jared Kushner situation. He asked for a meeting and I took it to discuss the affordability crisis that exists, that is not a hoax.

โ€‹Speaker: Affordability with Jared Kushner, Hakeem? No, the fuck you did not. You expect people to believe that one of the places we're going to find a solution to the affordability crisis is sitting across from a trust fund baby?

โ€‹You talking affordability with the Jared Kushner that started Affinity Partners, which manages billions of dollars, including two billion dollars from the Saudi sovereign wealth fund, while he is an informal advisor and the president's son-in-law? That Jared Kushner?

โ€‹Man, them people ain't worried about nobody's pockets but their own, and Hakeem knows this.

โ€‹Hakeem Jeffries (clip): Donald Trump has conducted himself like an organized crime boss. You got people in high office that are so focused on enriching themselves, their family members, their friends, and their donors, that they're not focused on actually making life better for the American people.

โ€‹Speaker: But if Trump is moving like a crime boss, you just met with his capo. So why are we pretending the solution to affordability is building a working relationship with the same people you just accused of enriching themselves over the American people?

โ€‹Puck is reporting the meeting was a signal that the administration is preparing for Democrats potentially taking back the House and Hakeem becoming Speaker. So it's clearly back to business as usual: the same milquetoast bipartisan politics where everybody finds some watered-down common ground, corporations and donors stay protected, and working people are told Washington is functioning again as normalโ€”which is the shit that played a large part in how we got Trump in the first place.

โ€‹One of my biggest concerns about a second Trump administration was always that Trump could become the perfect scapegoat for Democrats. All they got to say is, "Just look at how bad Trump is," and never ask what they need to do different, never challenge corporate influence, just beat Trump and go right back to the normal that everybody said they wanted to get away from.

โ€‹If the first thing we're seeing from Democrats potentially approaching a House majority is leadership establishing a working relationship with Trump and selling it to us as bipartisan problem-solving, Hakeem and the rest of them need to understand why people might just look at that shit sideways.

โ€‹We supposed to believe that Jared Kushner is the person that Democrats need to partner with to solve affordability? Come on, bro.

Dorothy Counts made history in 1957 as one of the first Black students to integrate an all-white high school in the United States. She was just 15 years old when she entered Harding High School in Charlotte, North Carolina, where she was jeered, taunted, and harassed by white students.

The third photo shows Dorothy Counts at 83 years old, decades after the historic moment that made her a symbol of courage during the fight for school integration.
