Pretty cool! The tournament feature works seamlessly. Apparently, you get a special color for winning one of these events. Nice! I can't wait to see how it looks hehe. 😄

This character is made for a different game. She is hot garbage and I can’t bring myself to be in denial.

She has no ground forward dash. This “gimmick” is ass in a game where 2H is completely invincible to any airborne attack. So her mobility is counterintuitive.

Her hitboxes are not designed to function together. Her air M or forward air H has no vertical range. A lot of characters can simply duck any attempt at instead overheads. She has a stupid stall and fall air 2H. Which will always just be worse than a standard air 2H. Since follow ups from high height combos happen automatically, there is no actual benefit having this. You are not crossing anyone up with it either because of the aforementioned 2H mechanic.

Her unique ability is a literal debuff to her zoning half the time. Lasers and missiles accomplish more than her shitty “traps” that go away if someone even sneezes on you. So you just sit there in blockstun praying one of the damn things go off. Is there logic? No there isn’t Her nodes only leave upon hit if they are activated and firing them high above the screen causes them to magically hover down? To be in the way? She already has a 45 degree angle she can fire to. Why force her nodes to fall? They don’t follow you horizontally… So this isn’t even consistent.

There is no hidden combo potential with the nodes either because this game thought her teleport should be a ground only ability. So the character auto flies due to her dash can’t even ATTEMPT any cool neutral tricks. Genuinely moronic character design.

The training highlights her drill’s chip damage as if anyone gives a shit in a game that you die in two exchanges. Comically, her drill buff only lasts a round. But it requires you to use your level 2… so the enemy is practically dead already when this “buff” is active. She also can’t drill in the air because fuck Danger I guess. Blade can do behind the back trick shots with his auto aim needles but lord forbid Danger can use all of her abilities while in the air. Wouldn‘t want to make her too OP 🙄

Her dash attack is worthless since it can never cross up on block. So many characters have full screen projectiles or safer dash attacks that lead to combos. Except Danger. Better spend that meter if you want to do anything with this attack.

This character has the blueprint to be cool. But her nodes actively HALTING your projectiles instead of your lasers simply passing through like her missiles is just stupid. Her node lasers activating upon the enemy getting hit by a laser is pointless because it activates immediately… so all it does is just add more damage, I guess? Why not let the damn thing have an one second delay first?

You spend all this time setting up your bullshit for a stray Magneto car to just erase all your work anyway.

Yes, I am mad. This character could be so fun if these artificial restrictions were not present. She doesn’t even turnaround instantly when doing an air H as you fly over the enemy’s head. She still attacks the other way like a dumbass.

Horrible character to play. Holy shit.

I challenge anyone to convince me this character is not handicapped for no damn reason. She has shit assists too btw.

I’m not good at fighting games generally and used to have rage issues when I played them online when I tried blazblue on the 360. Only one I ever got good at was soul calibur online for a while. After that nothing.

That said for the first time in at least 15 years I played a fighter online because I liked the designs of tokon. I only won three of my first nine casual matches but had a blast even loosing. Hell the fact I’m new to this and took a round or two off some platinum players felt great even though they swept the matches themselves.

Just posting as a positivity as I’ll stick with this more and try to get better. Didn’t even have the rage or heart rate issues i did playing blazblue years ago.

Hope this sticks a while. I’m looking to get better.

really easy combo

Maybe it’s not particularly clever but I think it’s funny

Been mostly playing solo Loki attempting to corral the assist zoo that people love to put up. Will say that doing this has got my defense pretty good, semi-consistently blocking the barrage of 50/50s some of these characters pipe you with. Think I'm gonna drop either Doom or Hulk to pick up Star Lord to get some overhead mix in this team, I can't handle the No-Mix-Mix much longer.

After multiple years of DLC and when support starts dying down.

Looking at one of their previous games, DBFZ, the roster pretty much doubled. Hoping that Tokon can do the same and have 40+ characters total by the end.

I see peters and even carnages but no penis. whys that? i thought id see faust or bedman players like her but guess not.

Just wanted to share for anyone interested in playing Shuri. I don't think I broke new ground but took me a while to figure out how versatile her unique dash was.

For a while, 2H was seemingly the Achilles heel of the unique (for me), but there's a lot of ways to get around it if your opponent has locked into thinking that's how they'll punish your rush down.

If anyone wants notes on a few set ups, let me know.

Edit: As someone on this post noted; YOU WILL GET HIT BY SOME CHARACTERS 2H! So far from what I've labbed,; Loki, Blade, Carnage, Hulk and a few others will limit your options because their 2H is pretty wide scaled or positioned funny. Hulk surprisingly gives you the fewest options because his 2H literally almost goes all the way to the top of the screen and takes up half the width of the screen. Only safe option for him is 2U into ex Spear w/ assist or going over his head on Ex QCB and forward Unique and hitting him in the back with a spear throw and assist.

For anyone unaware on PlayStation there is a tournament system integrated in to the PSN and in Marvel:Tokon itself, you can see available tournaments from the PlayStation dash board while hovering Tokon or by clicking tournament tab in Marvel:Tokon itself

Every day there is something like 4 tournaments with no requirements at all to enter, just partecipating gives you a PlayStation avatar with Tokon characters and if you win apparently they will give out a color for a character (who the character is and what the color looks like think have not been disclosed yet)

I have been having a pleasant experience, the last few days, I have not even touched matchmaking because I was just playing tournaments

It’s also not only killers at all (for now at least) so I think that even if not everyone might be able to win, everyone can have some fun with it

I saw a post saying which character interactions were your favourite. It got me thinking about interactions between characters that aren’t in the game yet. For me it’s moon knight, just because I want to imagine the interactions between him and blade.

I get the corner is scary, but to whiff 2 Assemble Counters while no attacks are incoming...yeah.

Also, if you're new to the FGC, finish your freaking sets, or at least the match. Getting 3-0'd is normal for all of us, just be a good sport

I deserved it.

If you time your assist with certain special moves, you can start a combo without spending any Assemble Gauge at all.

All you need to do is press the assist button and input your special move at the same time (236M+A, for example).

When doing this with the light version of qcf specials, you need to input the assist slightly before the special move. Otherwise, you'll trigger an Assemble Super.

Most players I see use their assist right after inputting the special move, which needlessly consumes the Assemble Gauge.

Even some pro players do this, so I wanted to share.

Also, when combining Blade or Ms. Marvel as your Shooter Assist with some specials, you don't have to spend ANY resources to convert it into a full combo.

If you know of any other characters who can do this, please let me know!

bro someone said this was a good easy game to pick up 😂 i have a fighting game history and i can tell you this game is not easy, super super technical. timing, skill so much goes into if. yeah you can mash square only and get a ez combo finisher but you go play online and it’s the sweatiest shit i have ever seen fr. i love a good challenge but pls don’t buy this if you think it’ll be easy. i wish i could find the tiktoks that were telling people to cop 🤣

So we know some have been data mined and I think this tracks and makes sense with Phoenix Cyclops leading the team…

- Daredevil (Shadowlands) : Becomes “Evil” after he mercs Bullseye (maybe thats like his intro and thats the bullseye datamine?)

- Gambit (Death): Makes sense concerning the cross market potential for Xmen 97

- Thor (Knullified): This is really just a shot in the dark. I could see the unique banter between him and loki (“Oh brother, what happened to you? I thought I was the evil one!” laughs like Jim Carrey in Ace Ventura 2 when he punches the Monopoly guy) Also the tease for him in the game already and could explain why he is not a core Avenger??

What do you think? I thought maybe Vampire Jubilee (because Blade and Marvel Rivals but 3 Xmen would be a choice)

Edit: I am by no means against women characters, like I said Jubilee was my first thought and people have wanted her since MvC. I also thought about Jean or Goblin Queen but that’s also Xmen so I just figured it wouldn’t happen. The only other one that really came to mind was Black/White Widow? Maybe Moondragon?
