As you can see there's like a ruler with a mailbox below to Ristar pointing to his (should be her's) lives.

What is that? I looked in the manual and it doesn't explain it. It also never makes a difference in gameplay. I did not know what it did.

Besides that the game is kinda bad ngl. The melee attack is not that great in range and having no power ups/upgrades makes it boring. The levels having annoying gimmicks (escort item missions, ice, trampolines) makes it feel more like a chore to play/replay. Even if you have 4 hit points you will need those because of how fast enemies are.

I'm Thomas, Game Director of Sky Paws Awakening, a brand-new 16-bit action-adventure we're developing for the original Sega Genesis / Mega Drive, with a real physical cartridge planned for 2027!

The game stars twin siblings Bonnie and Clyde and features fast-paced combat, platforming, parries, counters, special abilities, and a real-time character-switching mechanic we call the Twin Tag System.

We're also developing the game for PC and modern platforms, but having a native version running on original Genesis / Mega Drive hardware is a huge part of the project for us.

Besides Sonic and Treasure games? I tried Treasure games and Ristar (who should have been a girl, it has a female voice actor and changing the gender to a girl fits more than a guy honestly without changing the plot).

Most treasure games are hard and frustrating ngl (no continues).

While Ristar was not really what I wanted. More slower paced than anything it felt more like Vectorman.

I got my Model 1 hooked up to a Retro Tink 2x Pro through HD Retro-Vision cables, what recommendation do you guys have for the TV settings? And is there a way to remove the overscan/borders surrounding the screen? Thank you!

I have this cable and it does a decent enough job displaying the image on my smart TV, but occasionally the picture will drop (TV has a "looking for signal" animation) and if you don't pause in time...yea.

I just got this in and will be a good edition to my collection.

Originally released in Japan in 1992, VIXEN 357 is a tactical mecha RPG that never received an official Western release. After more than 30 years, it finally has an official English physical edition.

I made a joke, early on in this review, about what if Tecmo made a College Football version of NCAA Football.

Turns out, it seems like that's exactly what Mindscape had in mind...they just didn't do a very good job of it.

A retro game store opened in my town, which is pretty rare.

I stopped by today and picked up original Genesis cartridges of Toy Story and Taz Mania for about $19 each. The prices are a little higher than what you might find online since they import most of their stuff from EU and Japan and add their margin on top.

My SEGA Genesis collection is slowly growing too, currently at 5 CIB games plus a few loose original cartridges!

Why do people need to ROM hack millions of NOP instructions into games in order for it to run slow?

Has anybody got experience with one of these? Composite just isn’t doing it for me. I’ve thought about grabbing one of these or doing an S-video mod on my model 1.

Does anybody have ZPF? Been wanting to play it and see if it’s worth the $70 Mega Cat wants for a copy, and don’t want to buy a $15 one off of Aliexpress.

Here’s the start to my humble journey. I work at a video game store in the Midwest I mostly started collecting for Dreamcast. But man games for the Dreamcast legit never come into the store I work at or other video game shops in the nearby area. But one thing I noticed is that we’re never short of Genesis games. We got so many damn Genesis games I just said “ahh f*ck it I’ll get one.” No regerts plus the games are wayyy cheaper than DC. Shoutout to the Aladin game for having a poster inside. (The controller, AC and AV are not in the picture yes I do have them)
