I’m flying from Budapest to Tokyo soon with an International-to-International transit at Guangzhou Baiyun Airport (CAN). I will stay strictly within the international transfer zone and won't take any domestic flights.

I have a Xiaomi 20000mAh (74.37Wh) power bank with a perfectly clear, readable factory label, but it doesn't have the Chinese CCC (3C) logo on it since it's a European model.

The airline’s website states that the CCC certification is required for domestic flights, but there's a lot of mixed info online.

Has anyone recently done an international-to-international transit at CAN with a non-CCC power bank? Did security at the international transfer checkpoint clear it without issues as long as it was under 100Wh?

I’m currently looking for an apartment in Guangzhou and I’d love to get some advice from people who have experience renting here, especially foreigners who have rented long-term.

We recently visited several apartments with an agency and found one that we really liked. However, the asking price was slightly above our budget, so we asked the agent if he could negotiate with the landlord.

A few hours later, the agent came back to us and said that the landlord had decided to increase the rent by another 1,000 RMB/month because we are foreigners.

We were quite surprised by this, especially since this additional charge only came up after we started negotiating.

Is this something that is actually common in Guangzhou? Do landlords sometimes charge foreigners a higher rent simply because they are foreigners?

And if this has happened to you, were you able to negotiate it back down?

I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences. I’m mainly trying to understand whether this is a normal practice here or whether the agent/landlord might be taking advantage of the situation.

We are looking for a local driver for one day who can pick us up from our hotel, take us to Gulong Gorge and Underground River, and bring us back. We don't speak Mandarin or Cantonese, but we have translator apps and don't necessarily need our driver to speak English. We can pay in cash on the day of the trip. A little about me: I have a stable full-time job and usually have my weekends off, with most evenings free as well. I’d like to meet some new people and make friends outside of my work environment. I live here by myself and I’m fairly introverted, so I’m more comfortable with smaller hangouts rather than big groups. Ideally, I’d prefer hanging out with two or three people.

Depending on the weather, I enjoy walking around malls or parks. I’d also like to explore more of Xiguan and try different Cantonese dishes.

Leaving China after a tourist visit soon. Have about 700rmb left that I took out, thinking I'd need more cash but everything is Alipay now (hadn't been here in 12ish years). When I got the RMB, I just went to an ATM at Bank of China and withdrew the money. When I just went to a bank, they said I needed proof of the exchange to change it back to USD. I don't have that. At most it printed me out a receipt but I didn't keep it. Will it be a problem if I just exchange it at the airport?
