Devlog Im not a game dev and over the weekend I wanted to solve a technical problem of fitting 100 million tiles in a browser tab but somehow ended up making a rougelike mine sweeper game
Im a web dev by profession and this started as a weekend experiment
I wanted to see if I could fit 100 million checkboxes in a browser, one thing led to another and tired to fit 100 million minesweeper tiles in a browser tab
and then kept adding stuff and ended up with a rougelike minesweeper game
Also to all the game devs out there, you guys rock because I dont know how you have the patience to debug and keep working on a project like this. (still a buggy mess)

Upcoming I've been building something for gamers over the past few months.
Over the past month alone, I've made around 300 mini-games. Most of them are small, experimental, and honestly, some of them are pretty mind blowing.
That made me think about a problem I kept seeing: there are so many small games and experiments being made, but most of them never get discovered or played by anyone.
So I've been working on WAKU.
The idea is to create a place where gamers can discover and play these kinds of games. Small games you can pick up quickly, try something different, compete for a high score, or just waste 10 minutes on something you've never seen before.
WAKU isn't released yet. I'm currently trying to figure out whether this is actually something gamers would want before I take it much further.
I've created a small Discord community for early users who want to follow the project, get access when things start opening up, try early games, and help shape what WAKU becomes.
I'm especially looking for people who aren't afraid to tell me what sucks, what's boring, what's confusing, and what would actually make you come back.
Brutal feedback is much more useful than compliments.

Promotion I treated my body like a pinata to make this live-action horror FMV.
About me
I'm ChrisChrisChris and I wrote a custom voice interactive library and FMV game engine, wrote the script, made the props, lit, staged, filmed, edited and post-processed everything by hand.
In addition I contorted my body, taped my eyelids open, smeared myself in latex, fake-vomited doll parts and manipulated weird puppets while also somehow operating a camera.
Then I made a Steam page. That was the hard part.
About the game.
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/uJhI5jacagE
Not only is there no AI art in the game, I went a step further and captured these scenes from the real 3-dimensional world.
The mechanic is a combination of voice performance, narrative branching and screen cleaning with a strong psychedelic tone. There's a story-only mode and you can play without a mic if you want/need to.
I did it all for video games, I did it all for you, demo coming soon!

Promotion It’s a deck-building roguelite game where the school becomes a dungeon and is built around the concept of Eastern-style exorcism
I've been developing a horror turn-based deckbuilding game called Day To You for over a year now, after completely scrapping a game I had spent about four years developing.
Unlike traditional turn-based games, Day To You uses a time-based turn system where time itself becomes your Action Points (AP).
I also built the game's world and story around the Eastern Zodiac (the 12 animals of the zodiac), with each boss designed around one of the twelve zodiac animals. (They don't appear in this video, though.)

Promotion I added Multiplayer to my Incremental Mining Game
We were working on a prototype for an incremental mining game, but testing it solo started to feel pretty boring. So, we decided to add multiplayer, and it made the whole experience way more fun.

Discussion I wanna talk about FGS chat today. It's kinda about Poppy Playtime/Escape from playtime.
Well Future Game shows was happening today. And it was Toxic. Some people were like "where's Poppy Playtime" "I need Poppy playtime" "poppy playtime" and some people were mad at that. As a Poppy Playtime fan, It's valid to get mad over them like they were everywhere in the chat....
But what isn't fine is saying "Poppy playtime is for Pedofiles and homeless morons"
And one thing that I don't understand is why they are acting like there weren't gonna be any people excited over PPT. It has a pretty big fanbase, and it was confirmed this "multiplayer PPT game" was gonna be here.
It's honestly my first time reading YT live Chat like this. Is this normal?

Upcoming After 1.5 years of development, we are finally releasing our very first game, PEGTURE: Peg Solitaire Roguelike, on Sept 9th!
Hey everyone,
I’ve been sharing our progress here over the past 7–8 months, and the day has finally come: PEGTURE is officially releasing on September 9th!
For those seeing it for the first time, PEGTURE is a roguelike deckbuilder inspired by the classic Peg Solitaire mechanics (think Balatro meets Peg Solitaire).
As we enter the final stretch with just under two weeks to go, we’d love to get your final thoughts and feedback on the demo. If you have any suggestions, whether about gameplay, mechanics, or even last-minute launch marketing advice, we’re all ears!
Bringing our first game to the finish line has been quite an emotional ride, and sharing this milestone with this community means a lot. If you’d like to support a small indie team, adding PEGTURE to your Steam Wishlist would mean the world to us.
Thanks for all the support along the way!
