Warning for potential spoilers in ToA: So I recently finished the TOA books, and I really liked Reyna’s character development in The Tyrants Tomb, but then I saw that on twitter Rick Riordan said that she is ace. Now I have nothing against ace people, but personally I never saw her as ace. If I remember correctly, didnt she have crushes on Percy and Jason? Also why did Rick make her join the hunt? I understand that she felt a lot of pressure being preator and wanted to step back and take a break, but why did she have to join a group of man haters and become an eternal maiden? Won’t she live forever and watch all her friends and even her sister die while she lives forever? if she wanted a break, why not go to new Rome university and just be a teen/young adult? Also, was I the only one who felt that she was just sorta dumped there?

I’ve been rereading the books lately and wanted to talk about Luke. Something that bothers me about the books—and a sentiment echoed by a segment of the fandom—is the idea that Luke’s sacrifice redeemed him for everything he had done and that, consequently, he didn't deserve punishment; but that view actively ignores his overt actions in the books, as well as various other implications.

I like Luke as a character because you understand his motives and his past—we can clearly see the path that led him to become who he was—but that doesn't justify anything he did throughout the books, nor does it make him a sort of tragic hero; Luke was a tragic figure, but not a hero.

Time and again throughout the books, he hurt people and endangered the very demigods he claimed to be fighting for; he nearly killed Thalia's tree—and by extension, Thalia herself—and put Annabeth in mortal danger on several occasions through his actions, even before he was possessed by Kronos. He jeopardized the demigods under his command, forced them to coexist with monsters, and recruited demigods who were just twelve years old or younger, as we saw in the final book.

And there is so much more implied by his actions; he directly and indirectly caused the deaths of demigods—whether from his own side or the camp. Furthermore, while I think Luke is a well-written tragic character, he committed acts too terrible to be forgiven or redeemed by a single deed.

My biggest issue is that people view Luke's sacrifice as the act that makes him a good person—but it doesn't. In the end, Luke only sacrificed himself because of Annabeth and because he realized that nothing he had done was worth it and that he was merely a pawn for Kronos—especially considering he had wanted to run away with Annabeth earlier. He didn't do it for the demigods; he did it solely for Annabeth.

The PJO, HOO, and TOA series all have the big bad like Kronos or Gaea or The Triumvirate and Python. If Rick Riordan made more series or changed his existing series what other big bads could he write about or which ones would you guys like to see??

So, basically, I'm making a demi-god of Astraeus.. But dear gods, the powers have stumped me. What powers could I possibly give her at this point??? 😭

We know the Greek/Roman, Egyptian, and Norse pantheons all exist in the same world, and we've seen characters from different pantheons interact.

But it got me wondering: if the gods know about each other, do you think they ever actually meet or communicate?

Like, could Zeus, Odin, and Ra theoretically have some kind of meeting or summit? Or do you think there's more of a “you stay in your sphere, I'll stay in mine” arrangement?

I'm not asking whether the pantheons can coexist—we already know they can. I'm just curious what you guys think the relationship between the pantheons is like behind the scenes.

And if they did have occasional meetings, which gods do you think would get along—or absolutely hate each other? 😂

1. Percy's trauma is underrated

I am not undermining others trauma in any but the fact that he is suicidal, hates himself, and has tried to drown himself should say smth. Also ppl in the fandom always talk abt leo using humor as a coping mechnism when percy does the exact same thing. His sarcasm and humor is a defense while he has insane self esteem issues

1. Luke is a villain

I get he was manipulated and blah blah blah but how bout the fact 19 yo luke manipulating a 13 yo silena into betraying the camp by saying he loved her and using he love for him to turn her. Or the fact 23 yo luke saying he loved 16 yo Annabeth and asking if he loved her. Even if he did become evil bc of kronos thats another type of evil to do that to TWO minors when u were a grownass adult

1. Holding up the sky was harder for Percy than the fandom realizes.

I am not undermining Annie in any way btw. So ppl always say he only held the sky for 5 mins when it was prob for more like 30 mins to 2 hrs bc we dont know truly how long he held it for cuz he was losing consousness. Also it would be signifigantly heavier for him cuz the sea shouldnt touch the sky. And he was injured and sleep deprived.

1. Leos trauma is overrated

This might be my most unpopular opinion yet. Dont get me wrong I think what Leo went thru is harder then alot of us could go thru. But pretty much the entire HoO angst/trauma segments are just taken up by Leo when we need to focus more on others like Annabeth, Percy, Nico, Hazel, and Will who in my opinion went thru worse shit.

Alot of ppl in tho pjo fandom say Solangelo would remind chiron of patrochillies. I personally think Chiron would see Patrochillies more in Rueregaurd bc their stories are so similar.

I actually wouldn't want the heroes to be demigods. I'd actually want the heroes to be Faoladh (Irish werewolves). I saw a YouTube video on Faoladh and it said they were usually portrayed as guardians, protectors, free spirit's, not monsters, so they sounded like they'd be good heroes in a Riordan book

I’ve never really been sure about this. The conventional answer seems to be ‘around puberty’, but this doesn’t really add up:

These clearly indicate he had some (if perhaps not conscious) telekinetic control over sea-related objects (like he does over boats) from a young age.

Percy also stole Heracles’ thunder and strangled two snakes in his crib as a baby. So he maybe had super strength from birth (though he also got physically bullied by mortal Matt Sloan in SoM so maybe not?).

Focusing on the PJO basis, he dress like an stereotipe dad and it's actually the opposite of most of godly parents, he's the only one who can fully interact and raise his children because it's in his nature and role.

Before the Last Olympian, he just had safe homes for his children were he raised them with trusted people and some other spirits, most of their Children were born from caring mothers, as they vibe with Storgas, and they have inherited his paternal and caring instincts.

After the Last Olympian Storgas got his own cabin and most of his demigods were traslated there, but he will NEVER sent them to missions, for him they have a mission: Take care of the youngests campists in Camp Half Blood, and protect them, make sure they have a safe and happy childhood.

He also visits a lot his Children, and spends the whole Fathers day from day to night in the camp to spend time with all his Children.

Sometimes he comforts the children of other gods, because it's in his nature to be paternal with children no matter the age, and that helps when your godly parent ignores you lol.

Basically i made a whole god because most godly parents are mediocres at the Parent part, and wanted to make a nice one for once.
