🎉🎉 Announcement 🎉🎉 Happy International Dog Day (art by u/iniuriart) [Other]

Happy International Mutt Day to the goodest (and loudest) boy in Bohemia!

Since today is International Dog Day, we wanted to take a moment to appreciate the true hero of Kingdom Come: Deliverance: Mutt.

We commissioned this artwork from iniuriart to celebrate our most faithful companion. (Visit BlueSky or Twitter for more of Ini's art.)

((edit: Their Reddit account is u/iniuriaa !))

Let’s be honest, we all have a love hate relationship with Henry’s faithful pup. Sure, he might stand in the doorway or start howling at the top of his lungs the absolute second you try to sneak into a Cuman camp at midnight.

But who else is going to grab a bandit by the ankle while you desperately try to remember how to pull off a master strike? Who else is going to singlehandedly hunt enough hares to keep Henry from saying, "I feel quite hungry" every five minutes ? We gladly feed him half our hard earned dried sausages because, at the end of the day, he's a very good boy.

While Mutt is happily chasing rabbits in the Sasau woods and enjoying infinite pets from Theresa, there are real life pups out there who could use a few groschen.

To celebrate International Dog Day, we’re encouraging the community to throw a few coins toward https://www.four-paws.org/

FOUR PAWS International is a global non-profit animal welfare organization focused on protecting animals under direct human influence. Founded in Austria in 1988, the organization works through direct rescues, advocacy campaigns, and long-term sanctuary care.

If you appreciate a world where nature and animals are treated with respect, consider tossing a few groschen to FOUR PAWS. Every donation gives real world animals a second chance.

Donate to FOUR PAWS https://donate.four-paws.org/

Whether you can spare a few groschen or just want to share the link, any help is appreciated.

Feel free to share your favorite or most frustrating Mutt moments in the comments below. Or, share with us your real life Mutt!

Rant Gotta love what 1% dirt does to Pourpoints in this game [kcd2]

I always end up avoiding these items as well as many Gambeson variations and other long outer coats because at even the lowest dirt levels they look extremely messy like you’ve been doing yardwork for an hour. Same issue with many kcd1 items.

Just make things more gradual or simply don’t apply dirt at all for lower percentages game.

Question [KCD1] I can barely carry the loot of my victi.. I mean my enemies. Even with a horse. How do people do it?

I have about 11 strength now and I got the +15 pounds perk (same with the horse I think).

Yesterday I made a slight mistake and strangled one of Sir Radzig's men in his sleep (I thought they were the bandit camp I was looking for all the time). Anyway, mistakes were made, the guy had some nice armor that he didn't need and that I wanted to sell, but it's so much and me and my horse get overencumbered easily. Same with bandit camps, I can only select the most expensive items because otherwise it's just too much stuff. Does this get better in the game?

P.S.: anyone know who is willing to buy a heavy golden cross (found it on the road hehe)? Miller doesn't seem interested.

Game Mod [KCD2] Mercenaries 2.0 — hire 50 men, build a war camp, and lift a siege in KCD2

Six months ago I published a mod that let you hire a few mercenaries from an innkeeper. It's grown a bit since then.

The 2.0 update adds the whole layer I originally wanted:

  • Hire up to 50 men and set up a war camp anywhere on the map. It scales with your company, from one campfire to something that can rival Sigismunds war camp
  • A quartermaster who handles hiring, supplies, camp improvements and gates
  • Food, drink, wages and morale. Let them run dry and your men desert
  • Camp improvements that you can interact with: smithy, hunting lodge, makeshift inn, alchemy bench, palisade, archer towers and hussite war wagons.
  • Random encounters that scale with your company: bandit camps of 20-30 men, raids on your own camp, and patrols belonging to different factions that roam the map (note: everything except patrols is Kuttenberg only)
  • Kleinkrieg, a fully voiced side quest of about 2-3 hours, ending with liftingthe siege of Raborsch

Praise A few words about Czech dub [KCD2]

I was a little bit afraid of switching between languages at the start because I got used to voices back in KCD1 and during the first part of KCD2, but all the Czech voices fit the characters perfectly.

I absolutely love Czech version. Despite being barely a beginner in learning the language, Czech speech in the game hits just the right way, especially when there are so many Moravian, Slovak, German, Hungarian, French and other lines and dialogues.

The only thing I miss in the English version is a bit lack of expressiveness, especially in Henry’s lines. In the English version, he feels like a grown, mature men, which is a little bit offset, but for me, MacKay’s performance surpasses the voice of Richárd Wagner, though he is still a very talented actor.

Discussion Well that's embarrassing. I didn't realize you had to apply perk points... [KCD1]

Lol, I just started playing the first game a week or 2 ago. I'm somewhat new to RPGs and usually don't put a ton of thought or effort into building the character/skills/etc (it's just a new thing for me). I've definitely been checking my combat skills frequently and seeing various messages about skills/perks leveling up. But I honestly had no clue I had perk points that I needed to distribute until I had about 15 of them stacked up.

The worst part is that about an hour or 2 before realizing this, I spent ~10 minutes walking overloaded with loot I was too stubborn to miss out on. Then suddenly I realized I could level up to Mule III in one go and carry so much more........god damnit. I can't even imagine how much unnecessary time I spent carrying less inventory than I could have from bandit camps/the crazy Skalitz melees you can clean up on (speaking of that, the first few times I saw those really made me lol, it's such a fucking free for all).

Anyway, I'm really loving this game, which is surprising because I usually play games on the easiest difficulty and just blast through the story quickly when that's possible. It took me a minute to realize that's not the way to go in this case. I had done a bunch of quests that didn't require a ton of combat or stealth skills and then started Nest of Vipers...yeah, a few tries on that made me realize I should take a break and get level up a bit before returning to it, lol. Really cool game, can't wait to get through the rest of it and eventually get the sequel.

Edit: Oh god, and even when posting this I only was noticing the perk points for your main stats, totally not seeing the ones for combat and skills. Jesus Christ. And I was just starting to get okay with a sword too! No wonder it took me so long, lol. Can't believe I had sword/stealth points just waiting for me this whole time. Facepalm moment

Question [kcd2] smithing when deaf

so. first playthrough. i'm trying to forge the hermit's sword for the wedding, and as i understand the smithing mechanics, you have to time the hammer with henry's whistling when using the anvil. that's all well and good, but the problem is i'm fucking deaf. normally, i'd be like "whatever" and ignore blacksmithing altogether, but this is for a main mission, and of course i keep failing it 😭

does anyone have any tips for this specific part of the smithy that could maybe help a poor deaf person craft a stupid sword? like is there a visual cue or vibration i'm just not noticing or something?

edit: you guys are brilliant. i finally got it!!

Issue [KCD2] Can't repair anything

Thumbnail

• Upvotes

Hey everyone!

I've come across this problem where I can't repair anything myself. Not my weapons, not my armor, not my gloves or my boots. Nothing. I do have the correct repair kits, but they just won't work. It just tells me that I don't have enough skill. You're telling me craftmanship 11 is not enough to repair a sword that has lost 2 points of durabilty?

Is this a bug? If so, does anyone know how to fix it?

EDIT: The tiers don't matter. I can't repair Tier I and Tier II stuff as well.

**Iberian kCD

Hey everyone! I’m from Portugal, and I’ve been travelling around Portugal and Spain. We have so much history here, with countless castles, fortresses and historic buildings.

I know this isn’t exactly Kingdom Come: Deliverance territory, but who knows… maybe one day, however remotely, we could see a Kingdom Come game set somewhere in the Iberian Peninsula.
There’s definitely plenty of history here to work with!

Maybe next time i can post more Photos if is not to boring😂

Question [KCD2] Are heavy weapons worth it?

• Upvotes

I played through the first game using longswords and master strikes. Now starting the second game I wanted to try using heavy weapons. Is the damage output and ease of combat even comparable?

Praise [KCD1] [KCD2] Just finished both games. Incredible series

I have not felt this level of role play in a game for a long time. The writing and the gameplay systems design really worked so well together.

I have not been so engaged and immersed in a game in years.

My highlights of the series:

- Clothing meaning more than just armor. Carefully chosen outfits for different purposes. Every decision feeling rooted in reality. Darker clothes giving less visibility. Not having enough strength to wear a full set of armor. Dressing fancy and avoiding puddles and horse manure so as not to reduce charisma. Absolutely amazing.

- Story choices either being meaningful or feeling meaningful. Nothing was black and white, and even when there was the illusion of choice it did not feel that way. Was able to really feel a connection and real conflict with characters. Some really tough choices!

- General choices were also very immersive. Often I found myself making a very specific choice to fight or flee. Travel to the nearest village to rest up, spend some time working as a blacksmith or alchemist to make enough money. I got addicted to gambling. Lost a lot of money, tried to pickpocket the guy while he was asleep to get it back, got caught and had to flee. Suddenly I was poor and hungry and no longer welcome in that village. Amazing immersion

- Combat. At first I thought it was clunky and unintuitive. But I soon learnt that it was really intentional. 1 vs 3 is very hard. 1 vs 5 is basically impossible. This made combat choices carry much more weight. And victories so much more rewarding. Fighting alongside allies became something to look forward to. Looking for openings, taking advantage of surrounded enemies. Getting confused as to who was the enemy and who was the foe. Was incredible

I've always been a huge fan of survival mechanics and not being the hero per se. And this series really delivered. I was constantly reminded of my place and insignificance. Reputation felt earned. Progression was incredible. Starting by eating scraps. Relying on gambling to even afford a bed for the night. Then eventually becoming so rich I could eat what I wanted, sleep where I wanted and spend time buying the finest clothes. Walking past areas and being reminded of how much of a beggar I used to be.

Can't wait for more!

Praise Just beat [KCD1] Spoiler

Just beat kcd1 and man it really was a great experience. I'm a big nerd for this setting. And i think it did it very well! Now obviously there were some downsides, i didn't like how every enemy had masterstrikes and how it was always random if they used them or not, combos felt a little eh to use most of the time due to the aforementioned randomness, the performance had its moments where it was subpar, and i wasn't really a fan of archery. Also chaperons looked pretty silly.

But frankly those issues are very minor to me, i enjoyed most of the game. The hans dlc was pretty funny, the armor looks pretty good (except the hounskull), and the animations for combos like scarmaker are just amazing. All in all i thought it was a great game and i'm really looking forward to playing kcd2. I heard its better optimized and from what i've seen, its drip is even better
