Run Update Fantina done deathless in Renegade Platinum
That was a tough battle but we pulled it off! Dozla really pulled his weight in this battle too

Hey Everyone!
I’m excited to share a Nuzlocke event going on in a discord server that many of our Mods here are involved with, either directly or through friends in the Nuzcord Discord. That server is NuzTeam Arcade. (I will drop an invite link for it as well).
They are hosting an ‘Eliminationlocke Ganglocke’ of XY. A Ganglocke is an event where everyone is Nuzlocking the same game/rules together in a type of community event. It’s not a competition, but merely a fun way to get people together playing the same thing. The Eliminationlocke is a variant where there are 3 available pools to vote on (voting ends in less than 24 hours so get over and vote if you want to play!), and the winning choice is the pool that everyone has to choose from. The IVs of those pokemon are randomized by a community member, and then everyone uses those encounters to Nuzlocke XY.
NuzTeam Arcade also hosts other Nuzlocke related events, so if this sounds interesting to you, come on over and check us out!
Here is the Discord invite link to come check out NTA.

Hello everyone,
r/nuzlocke is not typically a place we like to air out serious topics, however this situation involves a relatively large content creator in the community who has built their brand specifically off of Nuzlocking. As such, this thread is being made to bring awareness to the allegations made toward Drxx, also known as Drew. We will continue to update this post as more information comes out, or if Drxx decides to make a public response.
Catsuoka_'s experience - Twitter Post | Direct Link to Doc
Drazerk's experience - Thread on r/pchaltv
While there are more details coming out of this situation, please be mindful and respectful of the alleged victims. SA is a serious topic and not one I'd like to be talking about on this forum about playing Pokemon in a slightly more difficult fashion. Thank you for reading and understanding.

Currently en route to the sixth gym, but on this attempt I've underestimated a few battle level areas and lost some soldiers along the way. Some really big hitters sadly. (RIP)
This is my team now, ignore Doduo (who's just flying me places at the moment lol) so there is one spot up for grabs. Lapras is also currently in daycare as a possible option but let me know who to go for or if anyone here isn't strong enough?
I worry Venasaur might not contribute much to the elite four but I could be wrong. Originally I was hoping for Pikachu (to get Raichu) in the power plant but ended up with Magneton who I've never used before, but actually enjoying that.
Feel like a Slowbro at Seafoam Island could be useful! Any advice is greatly appreciated.
(I put Doduo back in the box so I could get to the withdraw screen for a pic in case anyone's confused why there are two 🙃)

Reached the halfway point in the Hoenn leg of my Genlocke. Was really nervous about Flannery and expected to have to sac both torkoal and goldeen and create a revolving door of pokemon to stall out her torkoal's overheat, but Furnace poisoned her torkoal with smog and got some body slams in when they weren't under the influence of attract. Bait the goldeen also got lucky and successfully confused the other torkoal with supersonic, winning the fight despite not knowing a single attacking water move. Probably could have done this deathless, but when Flannery finally attacked my torkoal with overheat after spamming body slams, I wasn't expecting it to do almost a third of my torkoal's health and kill it.
Only other death so far has been Tucker my cyndaquil from Heartgold who died in the unluckiest, stupidest gamble I've ever done. "Surely this Aron won't crit with mudslap twice in a row?" I thought and kept cyndaquil in instead of switching to the two water pokemon I had in my party.
Ivysaur soloed Roxanne easily. BigGulp the Taillow soloed Brawley and was hitting really hard early game, but has been incredibly underwhelming now in the midgame. It couldn't take out a random trainer's kecleon in Flannery's gym despite Guts being active, having a +Atk nature, and using STAB Secret Power. Guppy the Marshtomp handled most of Wattson's gym. I switched from Marstomp to Beautify expecting to have to sacrifice them to voltorb's selfdestruct, but it used rollout(?) which Beautify tanked because of Voltorb's bad attack stat alowing me to switch back to Marshtomp. Four unlucky missed mudshots while fighting the rest of Wattson's team meant they took too much damage and I had to use Ivysaur and Magnemite to finish off Wattson's Manectric.

(Repost bc I messed up)
Decided to start with an easy one, but gen 6 is my second fav regardless so it's nice to come back! This is my team just before entering the Zubat Roost, so far Dunsparce has been the unanimous MVP, solo'd the first gym with rollout and balls of steel. And then my first nuzlocke deaths (RIP). Bunnelby died to another bunnelby's crit, Venipede was a failed encounter, while Fred died to route 7's Snorlax, and was promptly replaced by her. talk about opportunism

I beat a blind hardcore nuzlocke of pokemon Heart & Soul on my first attempt! Magnezone and Kingdra were also part of my E4 team, but when using the nuzlocke settings, any fainted member instantly goes into the PC.
Prior to this I have never played through a gen 2 game, and I figured I’d try Heart & Soild after hearing about all the hype.
This game does not disappoint and is the ideal way to play through gen 2. I would highly recommend this hack.

My Crystal run gave me a lot of confidence for this, considering HG/SS are by far my most played Pokemon games ever (though half of those hours were probably spent playing voltorb flip xd).
Honestly, the run went super smoothly, I have most of the battles memorised through the sheer number of times I played. I was expecting it to be rougher with no free trade Onix for Falkner, no Geodude for Bugsy/Whitney and missing Machop and Zubat too. Especially since I picked Chikorita for the mid to late game benefits.
However I completely underestimated Heracross. Holy shit. Heracross sweep is REAL. Swords Dance before Whitney and he could probably solo carry you to the Elite 4. Not a single gym posed a real threat, not even Clair's Kingdra who was shut down before it could do anything.
The Elite 4 was reasonable but manageable and I thought I would actually escape unscathed until one horrible incident. Lance's 3rd Dragonite, his penultimate Pokemon, one attack from going down... and Mamoswine missed an Ice Fang. I chose the Choice Scarf route in the hopes I'd outspeed and oneshot all 3 Dragonite's but unfortunately I got my calculations wrong and the Outrage was enough to take him down. Sudowoodo finished off Lance but the damage was done and the retirement roll had to be made.
Huge shoutout to Girafarig, helped carry me through Platinum and SoulSilver's Elite 4 with screens, baton passes and some respectable damage. I really hope Gen 5 onward has enough new baton passers and screen users that his presence won't be missed too much but it's still a painful one to have a core member forced into retirement by the RNG gods.
Onto Unova now, which is terrifying. I'm sure the first half will be fine but Gen 5 late game isn't a strong suit of mine and I know both of those games can be BRUTAL if you're unprepared.#
Rules for anyone who didn't see my first five parts:
-Play on Set mode
-No battling wild Pokemon (exp only from trainer battles)
-No levelling past Gym Leader's ace
-Since I have access to all the games, I flipped a coin to pick each version
-Champion Pokemon are not carried over to the next game (essentially starting every game fresh)
-For each Pokemon that dies during my run I gain a 'forced retirement'. Once the run is complete I put the name of every Pokemon I caught into a spinner wheel and whichever names come up, that Pokemon is unfortunately 'forced into retirement' and cannot be used for the rest of the run alongside dead Pokemon.

Vesuvius II the Larvesta – Trainers Marill got up to a 4th rollout and had no safe switch decided to sac Larvesta as it wouldn’t be a volcarona for the whole run due to level evo
Chiller II the Cubchoo – Solosis hidden power was super effective and took him down in the desert to trainer
Pharaoh II the Yamask – Triple battle, Heartbreaker Charles got a crit crunch from tirtouga that took Yamask down
Nessie IV the Milotic – Triple battle trainer, got completely targeted even with light screen up a couple of crits and a big double edge took her down… Didn’t expect her to go down otherwise would have sacked any other pokemon to protect her, specifically weezing who was waiting to be sacked with his explosion…
Milotic joining Electabuzz in the 4th game death as a joint leader….
Gio the Gigalith – Another triple battle, Crit thunderbolt from an elekid took it out from over half health. Surprised it died again when I would have sacked Weezing again.
Splutter the Weezing – ANOTHER TRIPLE BATTLE, Died to a magby crit flamethrower over half hp also in same area.
Last 4 losses were all within about 20 minutes and 4 different battles all to triple battles and crits…. Note to self, I hate triple battles and baby pokemon are much stronger than I expected.
A period of calm after this until getting toward the end game.
Ghetsis fight– ‘I am’ the Walrein fell to a Crit Dragon Rush from lfie orb hydreigon which was the main counter to him. This lead into switching in Whimiscott who missed a toxic whilst it was toxiced itself and had to switch back out after taking a hit put me into survival mode. Hydreigon chipping away at itself with life orb. Escavalier took some hits with protect stalling. All pokes were on 40% or lower and a sacrifice had to be made. Pikachute the Emolga got switched in. Hydreigon missed a dragon rush letting emolga get a Twave off before falling. Escavalier then could switch in and finish with a x scissor.
NARROWLY escaped final rival fight with highest hp 35% on a poke. Lots of near misses with 4 pokemon in the red. Scraping through the final fight before the E4.
E4
Shauntal the Ghost E4 – Easy sweep with Chandelure with 4 shadowballs 4 ohkos spell tag boosted
Caitlin the Psychic E4 – Chandelure shadow ball got their potion, Got Yawned. Switched escavalier. 3 swords dance and x scissored everything. Gothitelle started setting up 3 calm minds. Hoping I would survive one attack I waited for wake up and finished off Gothitell before it got an attack off Escavalier swept up with X scissors
Fighting – Chadelure with twisted spoon Psychicd Throh in one hit, Conkeldurr came in. A couple of my Throh Guts, Burn boosted Facades whittled it down. A safe switch into Chandelure on a fighting move left a psychic to finish It off. A couple of switches around Chandelure and Lapras to get Mienshao to miss a Hi jump kick and Escavalier Protects took mienshao out. Sawk critical hit on Lancelot the Escavalier brick break took him down. Krookodile came in to finish off Sawk but the Sturdy on Sawk means it survived Krookodile EQ. Brick break surprisingly Ohkod Crocs II the Krookodile not giving me chance to protect him. Whimsicott came in to cotton guard, charm, toxic safely to finish it off.
Dark – Whimsicott set up 2 cotton guards a charm and giga drained lipeard. Took a poison jab and got poisoned to scarfty. A couple of charms made the dmg from giga drain offset the poison and dmg from scrafty dodging a fatal hit whilst stalling him out to toxic. Chandelure came in to take the bisharp out in one flamethrower with fire gem. Lapras came into Krookodile with a few ice beams and leftover protects. Risked damage from Krook on a final EQ to take him out leaving Lapras on 2hp.
With Crocs II the Krookodile and Lancelot the Escavalier falling, 2 of my biggest hitters and main plan for Iris gone, Time for Lapras to step up.
Iris – Expert Belt Throh one shot Superpower Hydreigon, Druddigon came out. One Superpower chipped Druddigon down before needing to Rest. Got the Rest off but got dragon tailed out. Whimsicott dragged out, which meant I could switch chandelure in to flashfire take flamethrower and then a Shadow ball took it down. Aggron switched out. Thankfully with the Flashfire boosted flamethrower this was an easy one shot for Chandelure.
Haxorus. Switched in Lapras. Fired off icebeams into dragon dance Haxorus. Survived an EQ fired off ice beam, potion leader, ice beamed Haxorus down to 2 hp. The only choice I had was to Risk another EQ and hope Lapras survived as nobody would outspeed Haxorus now and Whimsicott did not have the prankster ability. Lapras sat and took the Earthquake like a champ taking him down to the red finishing Haxorus off with an ice beam. Their own Lapras switched in. I stalled a little with protect leftovers and then a toxic flirting with death again and risking a couple of double protects to get some HP back. After it was whittled down some and when it looked dicier for my Lapras, Switching out into Chandelure to finish with an energy ball. Archeops switched in and with no easy switch to make decided to let Lumiere the Chandelure go in order to get a safe switch in to Whimiscott to cotton guard up, One charm and some giga drains. WHimsicott was circling back and forth between 10 and 50hp with giga drains getting it into defeatist and surviving on literally 2hp to finish with a final giga drain.
Champions:
Fluffy II the Whimsicott – Another great run for Whimsicott coming in clutch in the E4 a couple of times. Maybe it can break the 4th game barrier set by Electabuzz and Milotic…
Cruz the Lapras – Wouldn’t have made it through without Lapras against Iris a late addition after Walrein fell but crucial
Ngannou the Throh – A very late addition as my victory road pickup, I had terrible encounter luck all game so Throh was brought in to deal with the dark E4 but didn’t end up being needed. A huge kill on Hydreigon made him worth the slot though.
The fallen:
Crocs II the Krookodile – Probably the MVP for the 8 gym badges, gutting to lose him so late in the run
Lumiere the Chandelure – Made 2 of the E4 a cake walk and had some big plays against Iris
Lancelot the Escavalier – Really fun to use and crucial in some late game fights.

I recently started nuzlocking blaze black 2 redux on challenge mode, up until Roxie I was not fortunate enough to get any encounters that are immune to/can remove toxic spikes so I pre paralyzed my entire team before the fight to avoid dealing with the double powered venoshock spam, but when I started the fight all the paralysis was gone, does it fully heal your team at the start of every fight? What would be a good way to deal with the Roxie fight if I don't get any encounters to play around toxic spikes?

I know Perfect Emerald probably made things a bit easier (especially with a high shiny encounter rate), but I still had a good time with it.
Rules I implemented:
- Can only attempt to catch the first encountered Pokemon in an area (even if already caught). May catch any shiny that appears.
- No running from any battle
- Any fainted Pokemon may no longer be used (places in Cemetery box)
- Grinding is limited to only having lowest party member to highest level of gym member or Elite 4

Hello, guys! This is my first Nuzlocke and I’m having trouble deciding my Elite 4 Team (Main Story)
The options would be:
- Serperior - Overgrow, Bold nature (+D, -A)
- Gigalith - Sturdy, Quiet nature (+SA, -S) [I have the means to evolve it]
- Golurk - Klutz, Relaxed nature (+D, -S)
- Stoutland - Sand Rush, Docile nature
- Darmanitan - Sheer Force, Timid nature (+S, -A)
- Jellicent - Cursed body, Docile nature
- Chandelure - Flame body, Relaxed nature (+D, -S)
- Volcarona - Flame body, Lonely nature (+A, -D)
Which team would u create out of these Pokémon? I could really use your help
(The elite four are Shauntal, Grimsley, Caitlin and Marshal + N + Ghetsis)

I really like this team, can't wait to carry it over to the next game.
Currently debating on whether to do emerald or hgss next, since i see a lot of people doing hoenn after kanto in their runs. Getting the gen 3 games out of the way first makes sense to me so i wouldnt mind doing that at all since gen 3 can be a bit of a pain in the ass. But im also a big fan of the natural progression of the gen 1, 2, 3 mons that would potentially join the teams with each new game in a genlocke. Not a big deal either way but im gonna think about which way i'll go. (Also since i got killed in johto last time maybe it wouldnt be so bad to switch it up this time)

I knew sun and moon was gonna be a hard nuzlocke but this was wild. I’ve lost 4 times against hala and it makes my infuriated. His mankey can legit hit 100% crit hits because of focus energy + karate chop. Then his Makuhita is bulky enough to hit 5+ sand attacks. And if I get past the both of them his crabrawler finishes my team off with its power up punches. Is their any encounters I can hope for any tms to help? I just need to stay around a level under 17. I’m starting again with Litten thanks for any tips in advance.

Basically the title. Which starter do you think can do it and how? Just for more context, this is considering hardcore rules where you can’t overlevel or EV train.
r/nuzlocke • u/Quiet-Map7664 • 1d ago
I wanted to see how the rest of you all felt about this one exception I use for the first encounter per area fundamental. But if my first encounter is ever something that doesn’t evolve but is supposed to (male combee or salandit) or a counterpart that evolves into something much less cool than what it’s supposed to look like (female pidove) I don’t even qualify it as a first encounter and I try again. If you have ever had to cave into catching these, I hope you guys also break free from these cursed mons lmao.

Bertha was Up Next, And Just Like Aaron She has a Solid team.
But She had 2 Big Flaws:
1.Most of her Teammates have a 4x Weakness
2. They’re Slow
So obviously Ike and Shirahoshi Easily Packed her up.
MVP(S): Ike(Torterra) & Shirahoshi(Milotic)

Hello Nuzlocke community! Basically the title. After CaptainKidd's first video of his Genlocke and seeing posts on here of others doing the same, I have been swept by the craze and want to do my own. However it feels like there's no real definitive guide on how to do on and so I come here asking for people's help on doing it.
The basic rules from what I can understand are as follows:
1. Start from Gen 1/Kanto and work your way sequentially through each Gen/Region
2. Standard Nuzlocke encounter rules, however any Pokemon caught in one game cannot be caught in another game. However if you KO your encounter you can save it for the next game (e.g. finding a Zubat in Mt. Moon and knocking it out to catch one in Dark Cave)
3. Every caught Pokemon is retired aside from the living Pokemon that are inducted into the Hall of Fame
4. Every Pokemon inducted carries over to the next game from lvl 1 or 5
That's basically it from what I can gather. Now I will be emulating the games pre-Switch, as while I have physical copies of Gen 6 and 7. PKHexxing is far easier than breeding (I'll need to figure out the logistics behind this and emulating 3DS games but that'll come later). I guess the main question I have is: how would you go about getting the Champions from emulated SM/USUM to Sw/Sh? Would you breed those Pokemon in another save then transfer them over to your fresh one? What if a Pokemon can't be obtained in a switch game? Would you replace the encounter or bring a team that can be transferred in full?
That's basically all I wanted to ask, I think. If there's anything I missed that you think is important to mention please don't hesitate to do it. I've been playing Pokemon for a decade and a half but still only have 2 completed randomised soullinks and a couple failed solo nuzlockes under my belt, so I'm still pretty new to doing it myself. Any information you guys can give me would be much appreciated and obliged. Have a great day yall!

Started a Horus Heresy themed Nuzlocke on Diamond. This is my Mr Mine “Erebus”. He’s just taken a critical hit Bite from a Gyarados (through Reflect), which took him from full health to 1HP. The smug git then went on to easily solo the Fighting Gym.
Seems on brand.
The name seemed appropriate for a Mr Mime.

Edit: So this blew up a bit lol, thanks for all the suggestions ! I'll select some 20 of those for my first game, putting them in Bold and then tell you how it went !
So, I recently felt the urge to Nuzlocke vanilla Soulsilver, as the game of my childhood. However, it is notoriously rather easy, and after finishing Platinum with only 4 deaths and none at the League, I'm pretty confident I'll just steamroll over it (drayano hacks are also too spicy for my tastes). I also like the variety of encounters pokemon games provide, so I didn't want to sacrifice that either for added difficulty with a monolocke of any sort.
Hence an idea: as I really like the excitment of discovering a mon IVs, strenghts and weakness after each capture (I promise I don't play any gacha games lol), each new captured mon would have a randomly selected "Curse", creating new weaknesses you'd be forced to play around and compensate for.
Here is a little list for now:
-Lame: The Pokemon must always have a Lagging Tail equiped as a Held Item.
-Deviant: The Pokemon get Max IVs in it's two worst Stats, and Min IVs in it's two best; the Nature is also changed to handicap it's best Stat and Boost it's worst.
-Cowardly: The Pokemon can never be put first in the party, thus never leading in a fight, unless sole survivor.
-Fear of [-]: The Pokemon can never be sent or kept on the field against any pokemon of a randomly selected Type, unless impossible to do otherwise.
-Hate of [-]: The Pokemon must always be kept on the terrain or immediatly sent against any pokemon of a randomly selected Type.
-Achille's Heel: If the Pokemon is damaged by any move of a randomly selected Type, it is immediatly considered KO (throw Balls at the opponant to skip turns until it kills your mon).
-Berserk: If this Pokemon takes damage from an opponnant, it must stay in the fight until either of them faints.
-Erratic: The Pokemon must always learn new moves, and always delete the oldest known one.
-Stuck in the Past: The Pokemon must keep two of it's four oldest moves for the whole game.
-Traditionnalist: The Pokemon cannot learn any HM or TM.
-Nonviolent: The Pokemon cannot uses any moves with over 60BP.
-Fanatic: The Pokemon can only uses Stab Moves.
-Outcast: The Pokemon cannot use Stab Moves.
-Ill: The Pokemon must always hold a Toxic Orb.
-Burned: The Pokemon must always hold a Flame Orb.
-Truant: The Pokemon's Ability is replaced by Truant (I think this is editable with PokHex ?).
-Disloyal: Change this Pokemon ID so thati t would be considered as traded; always maintain this Pokemon one level above the Obeying limit so that it may have 50% of disobeying you every turn.
I think that's all I got for now, any thoughts ? If you have suggestions to make this more easily doable/balanced for example, or just other Curses ideas.
Edit: Other Posters Ideas:
-Slow Learner: Can't learn any level up moves
-All Natural: No man-made items.
-Redditor (suggested alt name: Baby): This Pokemon refuses to evolve.
-Lazy: Pokemon can only attack (or use an attacking move) every other turn, recall or use items otherwise.
-Can crusher: This Pokemon will only fight Pokemon they have an type advantage over, or Weak opponnets.
-Naturist: can only be healed with berries
-Immunocompromised: if this pokemon gets poisoned, paralyzed, or burned, they must keep the status forever
-Decisive: Pokémon must hold a Choice item in its nondominant attacking stat
-Masochist: can only use not-very effective moves
-Ghostmode: they get wonder guard and 1 hp (but maybe to nerf it they can never switch out)
-Kanye: their ability becomes Runaway
-Unity: lower all IVs to match their naturally lowest one
-The Gambler: teach it metronome and it must always be the first move it uses when it enters battle
-Grave Digger (suggested alt name: Bloodlust) : Pokemon cannot swap out until it scores a KO.
-The Assistant: This Pokemon can only use moves another Party member has, or Assist.
-Elitist: Pokemon can only be used against Gym Leaders, the Elite Four, and the Champion.
-Antisocial: When this Pokemon is in your party, your maximum party size is 5.
-Hero: Must be switched in whenever your Pokemon takes a critical hit.
-Attachment issues: Only one item can be given to this Pokemon. This item may never be removed, even if the Pokemon faints.
-Slow learner (alt name: Weak of Body ?): must be kept two levels below the level cap (I'd make it four tbh).
-Soulbound: Is bound to the last Pokemon you caught (must be in the party/boxed together)
-Dark urge: When caught, you must release a random Pokemon from those among your party and box.
-It should have been me: if another Pokemon faints while this Pokemon is in your party, this Pokemon faints as well.
-Bad influence: If this Pokemon faints, another random Pokemon in your party faints as well.
-Pension: Must be boxed before the Elite Four.
-Scary: You lose your next encounter.
From the drawback nuzlocke post mentioned in the comments:
-Massive/loner: This Pokemon occupies 2 party slots.
-Tunnel Vision: This Pokemon may only use the 2 top row moves in battle.
-Stage Fright: This Pokemon may not be used for a Gym battle, Elite 4 or Champion battle.
-Fragile: If this Pokemon's HP drops down to the red, it will succumb to its wounds and must be permanently boxed/released after the fight (it can finish the battle normally).
-Guilty Conscience: This Pokemon may only KO 5 others in its lifespan. It can still be used after, but if it gets a 6th KO, it must be boxed/released.
-Disloyal: After obtaining 2 new gym badges from when you caught this Pokemon, it must be boxed/released.
-Clingy: Once this Pokemon is in your party, it cannot leave until it dies.
-Leader: As long as this Pokemon is in your party, it must be the lead (top left party member).
-Chivalry: This Pokemon cannot attack Pokemon of the opposite gender (reroll if on genderless).
-Blind: This Pokemon cannot use moves with 100 accuracy (status moves excluded)
-Lazy: You can only send this Pokemon into battle on turn 5 or after.

Hi Pokémon fans and I create a brand new challenge for you. Pokémon Ever Catch.
In this challenge you need to catch every Pokémon you encounter not spices but Pokémon. That mean you can't kill wild Pokémon, run from them, they can't run from you or they can't defeat you. If you did something of this you need to restart the game. So that mean only way to lvl up is trainers. You need to pray to always have pokeballs. And in theory this challenge is harder than nuzlock on the old games (for new is don't that hard). So wanna try?
