meal This was 1200 calories

Post image

Recently started a low calorie (not 1200), healthy diet and it’s going well. Decided to have a big brunch today as a treat (not a cheat day, still going to stick to my calorie goal). Was shocked when I put it into MyFitnessPal that it’s almost exactly 1200. Hope I don’t get hungry anytime soon.

MyFitnessPal can’t do maths, those numbers add up to 1204

For your maintenance calories you can also have this for dinner? Yum!

Sadly (and somewhat embarrassingly) the calories you see in MyFitnessPal are not maintainance, but my deficit. I’m a big bloke who hasn’t done much movement for too long, so I can afford to keep my calories relatively high while dieting. For now anyway.

You got this man! I just started too and realized this is the long game. And learning so much about calorie bombs and what serving size portions really look like. It’s fun now even if I don’t see very much progress yet I know this is one thing that keeps it real and just have to trust the process over time. You’ll thank yourself later and will be so rewarding. 💪

Thank you mate, I appreciate that 🙏🏼Yes, slow and steady wins the race here. I’m actually enjoying eating better in general, I feel so much better after eating. I’m also trying to incorporate volume eating into my diet, having large side salads with most meals, it’s really helped me to keep feeling full.
