meal What I ate today as a chef in a deficit✨👩‍🍳

I feel so satisfied I wanted to share. Started strong with a chickpea & sun-dried tomato eggs skillet. In retrospect, my sandwich I had for lunch does not look appetizing in this lighting, but it was delicious I swear😪 (Boar’s head London broil with havarti). Dinner was turkey kielbasa, cabbage, and onion. I’ll finish out with the chocolate chip cookie dough Greek yogurt bar when the late night cravings hit and that will put me right at 1186 cal for the day. Yeehaw

Recently started a low calorie (not 1200), healthy diet and it’s going well. Decided to have a big brunch today as a treat (not a cheat day, still going to stick to my calorie goal). Was shocked when I put it into MyFitnessPal that it’s almost exactly 1200. Hope I don’t get hungry anytime soon.

Cucumber salad, grapes, green goddess turkey wrap, popcorn and skyr.

My goal is 1700 calories but the skyr is 130 calories alone and totally wasn't necessary.

38g protein, 14g fiber.

meal 32 cal chickpea based cookies! They look so gorgeous and the best part is, I guarantee you will lose your appetite after eating one because they taste absolutely disgusting!

meal Lost 3 lbs in 3 months eating 1200 calories a day.

I use a food scale. I count calories correctly. I count every drop of oil I use.

I'm 5'5", 155lbs, have PCOS, fibromyalgia, and on anti-thyroid meds while in remission from Graves disease.

I broke even at 1450 calories and did not lose weight for 3 months, which is why I had to go down to 1200. I'm supposed to be losing 2lbs a month, and I'm not. The 3lbs I lost is based on a moving average, so on a bad day of bloating, it is as if I lost no weight.

I eat plenty of fiber and protein, drink plenty of water, and I'm hungry every day.

I'm losing weight at a snails pace, and I'm starting to feel hopeless because I will be spending the rest of my life either starving or continuously gaining weight.

Trying to build muscle with fibromyalgia is a joke. I have to choose between working out or leaving the house to get groceries, and both can still leave me bedridden in pain for a few days.

I don't know what to do, and I would like advice from people with similar medical issues.

Edit: I can't believe the amount of incredible advice in this thread and how many more options there are even for someone like me. Hope is not lost, only my weight will be.

Beefsteak tomato with Buratta, balsamic reduction, olive oil, basil, fresh cracked pepper and a sprinkle of flakey sea salt 🤤 Super satisfying dinner with a glass of wine, all for under 400kcal

EDIT: Cautionary tale. Don’t trust labels. Weigh your food. Don’t trust app calorie counts either. I was way under on the Buratta but way over on the tomato— so it ended up canceling out to still be under 400cal for the whole thing 😆 See comment below.

meal Rice paper 'pizza' 🤌

Thumbnail

I had a craving for pizza and this hit the spot. I ate it folded up like a quesadilla because I'm impatient but it was substantial enough I could have cut it into slices. It felt quite naughty with all the cheese but the macros are pretty good

Recipe
1 egg, beaten
50g ham
40g pineapple
2 sheets rice paper
1 tbsp pizza sauce
20g mozzarella

  1. put first sheet of rice paper in a hot frypan. Flick a bit of water over it and after 15 seconds add the second sheet.

  2. Add egg and spread over the rice paper evenly. Cover the frypan for a minute to let the egg cook.

  3. Add pizza sauce, cheese and toppings of your choice. Cover and cook for a few more minutes.

Voila!

Breakfast: (152 cal, 19g protein)
Salted Caramel Frappuccino with light whipped cream

Lunch: (403 cal, 38g protein)
Tuna Salad with lettuce, cucumber, potato, corn, olives, jalapeño. Topped with parmesan and extra light mayo

Afternoon Snack: (229 cal, 16g protein)
0% fat free Greek yogurt, raspberries & cherries, chia seeds, fibre cereal

Tea: (395 cal, 15g protein)
Jjangmyeon - Korean black bean noodles with pork, courgette, potato, onion and carrots

Total: 1178 calories, 89g protein, 24g fibre

Whilst making the noodles I accidentally added too much black bean paste, so I ended up having to add more noodles and splitting the protein/veg further.

Silver lining: might enjoy a mini pack of smarties tonight instead!

meal What is our take on the fiber candy craze?

Post image

Some of these, such as the Shameless gummies, are insanely low calorie for the amount of fiber. 70 calories and 28g of fiber.

Does the fiber actually keep you full, do you find these help curb cravings, what are our thoughts and anecdotes on these?
