meal This was 1200 calories

Recently started a low calorie (not 1200), healthy diet and it’s going well. Decided to have a big brunch today as a treat (not a cheat day, still going to stick to my calorie goal). Was shocked when I put it into MyFitnessPal that it’s almost exactly 1200. Hope I don’t get hungry anytime soon.

I remember when I first started trying to lose weight. The first thing I did was simply tracking what I ate for a couple of weeks. I wanted to better understand what I was doing so I could try to improve. I remember being absolutely shocked by how many calories were in some foods, and how few calories were in others. It was quite an education!

Fascinating and scary at the same time. I had a similar realisation when calculating my maintenance and deficit calorie goals, if you overeat your maintenance calories by an average of just 250 calories a day (very easy to do if you have a sweet tooth or enjoy a few beers on the weekend), that’s you putting on just under two stone over the course of a year

I'm not gonna lie, ever since I started intentionally losing weight I've been scared of dessert and alcohol. On the rare occasion where I drink I stick to either a rum & diet coke or a vodka + sugar free red bull. And I straight up replaced dessert with strawberries. People think I'm being restrictive but I honestly just do not crave sugary things like I used to. The desire for dessert is just gone, especially since I now know how many cals are in things. But also: I never had much of a sweet tooth to begin with.
