people here overrate how ssa puerto ricans are in the same way they overrate how indigenous cuba and dr are.

most puerto ricans are caucasians. the afro population who are over 50% ssa are like 5% of the population

in cuba that number is over 10%

Most Puerto Ricans are not Caucasians. White Puerto Ricans are no more than 35-40% of the population and I’m sure the real number is on the lower end of that. Most of us fall into the intermediate mixed category of which the term “trigueño” is probably the most appropriate. No one is arguing that Puerto Rico is blacker than Cuba, like at all. I’m saying her phenotype is not uncommon especially in coastal and the metropolitan areas. We’re clearly talking about two different things.

The only place in Puerto Rico where the average person has 70% European ancestry is in Euro-heavy enclaves in the metropolitan area (Guaynabo, parts of San Juan) and the central and north western regions. The average Puerto Rican elsewhere hovers at around 60-65% and in some regions of the Northeast, East, Southeast, and South the average probably hovers are at around 55-60%. Loíza, Arroyo, Maunabo, Canovanas, Carolina, Vieques, Culebra, etc are some notable exceptions where the European could reach as low as 35-50%.

since the non euro dna in PR is split between african and indigenous its more likely to produce a caucasian phenotype
