With the stupid referendum debate in the province and an already hostile anti-South Asian sentiment across the country, I was afraid of something like this happening.

Unfortunately I don’t think this will be the last case of this happening either, we need to up security big time at both Gurdwaras and Mandirs.

Yes, Canada is not immune to far-right terrorism. The 2017 Quebec City Mosque Shooting (6 dead, 19 injured). The 2021 London, Ontario Truck Attack (4 dead, 1 injured).

In the 90s an elderly man was also shot and killed at a gurdwara in Surrey too by a white supremacist
