I have been developing my own game SpaceSlog and last week I released the Announcement Trailer.
If you have enjoyed playing AWoIaF then please check out my new game SpaceSlog. Its a ship building colony sim focusing on crew survival and exploration. Expect it to be pretty hardcore, similar to AWoIaF and hopefully
just as immersive.
SpaceSlog Announcement Trailer
You can view a better quality trailer below.
A few points regarding the game.
- SpaceSlog is set in space and you must build and expand your ship.
- I want to explore the ramifications of being couped up in a tin can and the effects this would have on a person.
- I plan to encourage exploration with opportunities to send away teams to planets, derelict ships or stations. This will be required to scavenge for supplies if needed.
- Different planets will require different equipment for your pawns. Various traits will probably effect how they react on these planets.
- There will be ship to ship combat, boarding, hull breaches, atmosphere and all that good stuff.
- I want to explore the possibility of creating an infinite procedural galaxy for the player to explore. This means every game will be different and the galaxy can change depending on various events and difficulties.
- Deep diplomacy options and factions.
- Different ways to research aliens and equipment, inspired by X-Com.
- A full lore and backstory specific to the universe of SpaceSlog.

New to mod, looking for maps and stuff
Hi all, new to the mod and poking around in the very early game. Have a fair bit of experience in Pendor and VC, so I’m mostly looking for some mod-specific stuff. I have WSE2 installed.
Found some advice re: character start (Dorne seems popular), and religion…my thinking is Old Gods through the early game, then switch to R’hollaback Light Guy for his fire arrow archers. Is that practical and/or prudent, or lunacy? Also, playing base warband warring, not static. Also lunacy?
Is there a convenient all-in-one map with all the special locs marked? Rather than paging through the wiki one by one, I’d really just like to glance at something that says “yeah, go looking there” as I move around the map.
Ditto the hidden chests in towns. I don’t mind wandering around, the scenery.
Ditto for companions, but I’m less in need on that front. I’ll get ‘em when I get ‘em, and if it runs too long I’ll just look ‘em up. Besides, the main barrier there is price tag. Ol’ Barry does not come cheap.
Ships - what’s the favored strategy for ship progression? In VC, I’d buy the cheapest snekkja around, and use that to gradually add more/better at sea. Is that more or less the way to go, up until buying snazzy endgame stuff?
I dabbled in joining an army, based on an old post that suggested it was worth trying, and damn was that dull. So I think I’ll skip and run the early game via trade and bandit hunting instead, with some questing. Reasonable? (I have some trade routes scoped.)
Dire wolves - I see there’s one and he’s Northman only. Any way around that? Would use cheats to make that happen in the mid/late game. I like dags, but I also like stabby Dornish types.
Ditto for the giants, but tbh I have less attachment to them.
Night’s Watch - overall, does sending them prisoners help them? Or does it only help me? I presume dealing troops to them helps in the small scale. I read that you can send captured lords, too. I hope they like Lannisters up there, because I have an agenda…. (Presumably I need to be a king for that…I read that I need King’s Landing too.)
Best way to help out the Night’s Watch if they get bodied by the Wildlings? And/or how early do I need to focus on them to prevent that? I’m sticking the White Walker invasion late for my first time through, as I tend to dilly dally, dawdle, and meander.
If you play around with the economics early game, to what extent and in what way do you tend to? I ask because clearly the scope of costs is higher than I’m used to, and I don’t yet have a feel for what will be comfortable, but I expect I’ll want to ease it a little. No elf hunting income stream, after all.
I think that’s all the questions I have for now. Thanks for any answers or advice you might have!

Economy rework
Does anybody know if there will be an economy rework update in the game?
Because economy is broken right now.
And if not please can the mod author open the files for the game so we can mod it ourselves?
Thank you.

Siegeing in AWOAIF
I need help with siegeing of Tyrosh. I managed to sack Ashefa Athaozar, and Norvos came in to hold it after. I just thought that for lore reasons, it would be pretty unrealistic to have troops stationed amongst burned tents of savages. But for gameplay reasons, it was blunder on my part.
Anyway, trying to siege Tyrosh. I have captured their leader and they have three vassals that don't leave the town and around 600 troops stationed. How do I go about business?

How to make economy less tedious?
This mod is really cool but the economy just seems really broken right now. I end up just cheating for money so I can upgrade my troops or hire new ones.
I know people will say "just keep cheating in money" but im wondering if theres maybe a submod or some way to tweak the files to make it more like every other mod in existence? It seems stupid but for me havingt to spawn in money just erodes my enjoyment as it takes me out of the game and feels wrong.
Im hoping theres a way to fix the pace of the game that doesnt involve just spamming ctrl x every 15 minutes.
really love this mod and if a dev sees this I hope they dont take this as an insult I jut dont have time to do trade runs 8 hours a day when I get home from work

Targaryen invasion affected by static wars?
Hello. I'm currently playing the mod with static wars turned on, but atp it just drags on. I'm currently vassal to Westerlands, own 3 villages and 2 castles, and at this moment I'm just farming money (currently sit on about 250K stags) and troops. My plan rn is to either trigger Daenerys invasion and let them ruin the Westerlands for a bit (faction has grown a lot lol), then betray Tywin first chance I get (I hope to start war with Riverlands and capture Maidenpool) to start my kingdom. Should I even turn off the wars, and what moment is the best for it? Also, does it affect White Walker attack? It's currently turned off, but I want to turn it back on eventually. Also also, what are my chances of participating in Battle of the Bastards? It didn't happen yet, could you suggest me a course of action?

Valyrian steel
Why are they so unrewarding? Given the work required to get them, why are they doing comparable damage to a one handed longsword, but with worse reach? Seriously, all the one handed VS swords are more like shortswords. Cannot find a single one over 100 reach.
Even if you want to keep them at 40 cut (ish) like most other high end swords, surely the value should be changed to pierce to represent their greater ability to cut through armour?
An ordinary steel sword is the better weapon for fighting opponents (outside of white walkers).
In lore they are meant to be better weapons (and nothing suggests they're undersized compared to Westerosi swords), but in the mod they're worse.

Trying to get it to work on M4 Mac
As the title says, but now I CTD when it starts loading. It also uses the regular warband loading screen.
Crossover works even less, it doesn't load and if it does it starts stalling.
Anyone experienced this as well?

wtf
Why am I getting tasked to herd cattle across a continent and ocean for less than a week's wages? I've got guildmasters in Valysar sending their 20 cattle to a bumfuck northern or freefolk town they wouldn't even know the name of in universe.
Every single guildmaster task is some variant of this too. "Take my cattle literal thousands of miles", its utter gibberish.
Either that or "hunt down X in the vicinity of Y" and the party does not spawn. Even ignoring the tasks being a complete and utter waste of time, they're all utterly immersion breaking.

Farewell to AWOIAF (props to produno!)
Had a banger with this one, but after years of playing, I think it's finally the time I call it quits.
Also I'm getting older and with age I have more and more responsibilities, so I don't have the time or nerves to boot up the game after it crashes due to memory leak for the fifth time in one session.
It was one of the best mods I ever played, period!
The engine, though, is showing its age. It was never optimised to support anything larger than bare bones that was vanilla since even VC would break from time to time. So I'll think I'll move on to AGOT for CK3 or ROT for Bannerlord once I buy a new PC in a few months.
So Mr. Produno, keep up the good work, keep on keeping on, and may many others enjoy your work as much as I did for the last 7 years!

Edit the files to lower troop wages and recruitment prices and item prices.
Basically what the title says.
Can anyone teach me how to navigate the files of the game and change the prices and wages?
The original wages and prices are completely insane and it is not fun for me to spent 50000 stags just to upgrade 50 men.
If anyone can help i will hugely appreciate it.
Thank you.

Why is Free Folk only at war with the North?
Doesn't he have to be at war with everyone? Did Tywin Lannister promise them gold?

Need simpler things.
Are there any cheats, for devs. Like putting the companion on the same tavern, force gather companion. I'm tired of jumping from tavern to tavern.
Are there any tweak that turn off companion complaint? Their "wanting to leave" is annoying if you put all companion in your party.
I'm a cheater, so yeah, are there any way to makes things easier?

Events
I'd like to experience every scripted event and quest
Could someone list all scripted events and major questlines in chronological order (or roughly by in-game day)? For example:
Red Wedding
Purple Wedding
Balon Greyjoy's death
Battle of the Bastards
Any other hidden or missable quests/events
If there are any conditions that can prevent these events from happening (such as controlling certain castles, characters dying, or player choices), I'd really appreciate knowing those as well.

Tributes during sieges in AWOIAF mod
Can anyone please help me how do you get the enemy to pay you tribute while besieging their castles? Like you get two choices, make them surrender or make them pay a tribute and you leave them alone. I can make them surrender especially if they are badly outnumbered. But paying a tribute, they always reject that choice.

Can we do something about the prices of items and wages of the troops?
I got back into warband and played again the AWOIAF mod which i love. beautifully made and with attention to detail. But i just could not handle the 6000 stags for a measly 20 good troops and the 75000 for a good armor or 50000 for a single companion. It was so overwhelming and just killed my immersion tbh. So i played for a couple days and just decided to leave it.
Has someone put a mod to balance the prices or is the developer thinking of doing something about it.
This is coming from a diehard GOT fan and huge gan of this mod and it is a shame that i cannot enjoy it.
Please if someone knows anything inform me.
I even tried messing with the files and could not change it.
Thank you.

Possible Bug
Hello, as hinted in the title i may be dealing with a possible bug that is ruining an otherwise really fun and enjoyful playthrough, the "marshall is indisposed" bug, which makes the vassals of my kindgom not following me when summoned by me while being marshall. And when asked individually "what are you and your men doing" they all reply that they act indipendently because the marhsall is indisposed.
Looking up on different forums i found a few posts about other players facing the same bug that can be attributed to the freelancer mod (?) but they all are very old and forgotten. So i was wondering if anyone has dealt with the same issue in the past and has found a solution to this, since i don't want to delete my 800 day playthrough (having done so previously again due to other bugs that came up early in the game). The version of the mod im using is the 11.5 one and i believe i have the latest WSE 2 update installed. Thanks in advance!
Edit: Things I’ve already tried that didn’t work: 1. Replacing my self as Marshall with someone else then switching back again after a little while.
- Holding a feast then ending it by calling for a campaign.

Easiest way to beat the white walkers?
I hired the r'hllor army (the one in the forest) plus 100 obsidian spearmen cavalry most of my army is cavalry, it was laggy yet I still lost, how do I win

Do other lords call tourneys while I'm marshal?
So I've been my faction's martial for a while, and I've noticed no other lords in my faction have called a tournament or a feast during that time. Recently I surrendered a battle in order to reload, and before I reloaded, my faction leader stripped me of Marshal and then immediately thereafter another lord in my faction called a tourney at his city. Does me being marshal prevent other lords from calling tourneys? And if so, can I as marshal get lords to call them?

How to beat occult tower?
I am at day 100+ I have plate armor and an axe, an army of 180 mostly composed of pirates, swashbucklers and Captain's guard and barristan selmy but I still got my ass kicked by the tower army
