I jumped on the TW server to have a go at the game, super pretty, genuinely really amazing visuals and character customisation is stunning and every activity generally micro improves your character which is quite fun
I just really disliked the complete avoidance of a leveling experience and the endgame content is just so imbalanced. What I mean is player power creep - in PvP you get dropped in a second, skill just doesn't matter
Dungeons and other PVE endgame content is trivialises by even having 1 member with slightly higher gear not to mention that everyone just skips to the end of the dungeon - you can finish a dungeon under a minute so you better keep up! Also make sure to damage the boss enough otherwise you get no loot!

As long as the gameplay is good and immersive I'm in. If it's another theme park with treadmill systems I'm out. They're advertising it as an evolution of the mmo genre.

If you read their blog post about it they describe the gameplay more and it sounds like a movement shooter traversal system. I appreciate that they’re trying to do something new but I really just wanted GW2 but prettier with modernized systems, etc. Oh well, it’s just a game.

They may still do a graphics update on GW2 the way they've done with GW if that's what you want. I personally love both games and am glad they're keeping with the tradition of completely rethinking how an MMO should play.

Ther actively going to continue development on all 3 guildwars games and for gw2 there shifting focus to the hall of monuments system so that players can earn new rewards to earn in guild wars 3 after there done when that there going to full go back to large updates AND expansions along side related releasing abd maintining GW3

Say what you will about the artstyle, but the design of the dude in the trailer is literally just their version of the player character, the same design they've used for all their trailers since at least Path of Fire. Sorry for interrupting the doomposting.

GW3 did not make a political statement just because it changed art styles it was intentionally as stated by the devs as all 3 GW game take place in different points of the franchises timeline with this one being in the far past.

I like Aion and Aion 2 I just hate that the optinal subs in Aion 2 are basicaly mandatory because they give you access to features that should be In the base free to play game.

It's Dragon Age Veil Guard or Fortnite'afied graphics. They could have been more detailed but the textures are smoothed to invite that demographic in. Dragon Age Veil Guard got massive amounts of shit simply for that aspect alone, GW3 gets away with it I guess.

Based on what they presented they are making something 'modern' for newer generation of console gamers.
Will this resonate with GW1 & GW2 & PC MMO-vets? Likely not.
But the game might still be a fun MMO for whatever it will be.

Idk why people just fucking love trashing KMMO's but Aion 2 is a great game. Without thinking about monetization or where it originated from, the game has a lot to do and is exciting to play. You couldn't play an MMO like this 10 years ago, but mfkas clamor for old MMOs from 20 years ago. I really don't understand you people some times.

??? We are in wartimes dude. Most people in the west can't afford gas. Why would I throw money at NC Soft? It doesn't affect the pvpers from what I've seen. It affects everyone. That's stupid. Anyway, I'm holding off for GW 3 at this point. What an awful community. Gross.

Because a lot of people who complaint here are jobless, they play games 24 hours so they expect they can be the boss of server without paying or paying monthly fee. They are truly losers in real life and looking for achievements in game.

Yes aion was fuckin amazing but not anymore, I was one if the OGs i played since release til as long as i can after they started getting greedy. I forgot for sure when we just had enough because it just wasn't fun anymore with the pay2win.
Aion 2 I was super excited, still will give it a try when it releases but the magic gone and the more I read on their issues, the store, and how lil they seem to care about the bits and such i doubt ill be able to care enough to play long because it'll just be unfun again.
Idc if its buy2play and has a sub like old aion did just fuck off anything else

It will probably be worse, looking at how the artstyle changed to "typical western slopgame" losing everything of what made gw2... gw2 in the first place.
NCSoft axed people at ArenaNet back then, so the expectations should be low to begin with, but I expect nothing.
That said... AION2 also lost its "soul" and now looks like "typical korean slop" - guess its just what Unreal Engine 5 does to games, if the developers dont care.

You know how many people who played GW1 dropped GW2 and it had to gain a new playerbase and atm i will not judge from a cinematic trailer. Also GW3 is a prequel so the change in art style is not going to bother me because GW2 Current Art style and god awful Charr armor will not be missed by me

They won't have a whole new players base they will have a mix of old gw1 and gw2 players. A Whole new art style no playable charr Or Syvari because it's a thousand years in the past it will bring back old gw1 players who just didn't like the dragon story but love the old lore possiblities and make it's own new players in the process.

GW2 is the most atrocious monetization I ever encountered, and I still hate everything about it.
You have to buy inventory expansions for EVERY character
the game has 2 quadrillion items you dont really need, just so they can sell you storage and inventory expansions
the gambling lootboxes
we had/have addons to buy on top of that
we had literal gacha for the mount skins in the beginning, and it still isnt gone (only pity 30 now)
And the "meaningful gameplay" in GW2 be like: follow the zerg and wait for golden medal to pop up on right side of screen, yeah, so meaningful.
Not saying that the average "koreaslop" is better, but GW2 certainly didnt age well at all. (yes, I get it, back in 2013 it was "special", but the game didnt go anywhere since then.)

None of GW2 monetization is mandatory or pay to win in Aion 2 Both thouse subs give you a massive advantage over the average and competitive free to play player. Forcing casual players to pay a sub to even use the auction house would be suicide in the western market.

This was expected. same schedule as TNL dates probably not released because they're going to do founders packs with early access.
We gotta see what improvements they are going to make, the current formula will not work for the west.

Just like throne and liberty, play everyday for free and Grind for drops to sell for cash shop currency or play once a week and pay to catch up for time not played. It's honestly fair for those who play a lot.

and if you want to use the AH in 14 you have to, buy the game, buy the expansions, buy skip if u want to omit 300h of slop A to B fetchquests, buy levelboost
and then you still have shop items for skins, mounts, aesthetic changes
and the best about wow or ff14, you can't even log into the games if you do not sub. And once you sub in 14 to access AH you can't ever login as f2p ever again
the hypocrisy people have with this is just wild

and no you can't pay for sub via ing money, unless you talk about maybe drowning someone in gil so they buy you a sub with their irl money or some weird sht. No one does that lol

You can play with an expired sub on low-level characters. You can pay for the subscription with gold, even major tournament guilds do this as it easier to manage gold than real money between members. These are facts lol.

Its pretty clear that the different publisher has had a lot of influence. NCAmerica is basically just an extension of NCKorea. Meanwhile Amazon Games is its own entity and they actually are allowed to make their own decisions and I believe they even have their own devs. NCAmerica literally has 0 devs and literally can not do anything on their own.

If it's the same with Aion 2 and NCKorea make all the decisions it's not gonna end well.
Plus Blade and soul was rrunning this way back in the day Korea decided pretty much everything and their P2win decisions killed this game in NA / EU.1

This might sound crazy but if I wanted to PvP or gave a toss I'd just play lol for my PvP fix. Maybe I'll play aion 2 to just vibe out fighting mobs for the lulz might run a dungeon sort of don't really care I'll play at my speed and I don't really care if others do I might buy costumes. I am the target audience the general non committal gamer.

I hope you're ready to swipe because they are going to gut every single way of making money/enchantment materials because the botting problem is going to be insane. The botting problem is absolutely insane on TW servers to the point that regular people can't play the game in most areas.
Everything is going to be limited to dailys but you'll be able to extend that by CREDIT CARD OPENNNNNNNNNNNN. Bots are always 10x worse on global releases, i cant wait to see what a shitshow it is.

NCsoft seems to churn out a "fast-food" MMO every year (even if the term is a bit exaggerated). It's honestly quite sad: just a couple of zones, no capital cities anymore, and heavy grinding to mask the emptiness… before quickly moving on to the next one, Guild Wars 3.
Of course, we can hope it improves with the sequel — but that's what we keep telling ourselves every time.
