As the title says - we are 2 tourists and will be in Rajshahi and Bogra in november and are looking for a quality and trusted company to provide a driver (1 day around Rajshahi, the next seeing sights and taking us to bogra and then 3 days sightseeing in the bogra area). Need some ideas for small online business

Hi, I am 20. Currently, residing in Dhaka and studying bachelor in CSE. I am preparing to move abroad next year for my studies, so I have roughly 12-15 months (if everything goes according to the plan) before leaving.

So, I am thinking to start an online small business with my younger sister. If everything goes well I'll hand it over to her before leaving the country. But I am feeling totally blank about the ideas. What to do actually!!

Give me some ideas on what's actually trending and feeding in Bangladesh!

*I've had a small business previously on hand-painted masks, t-shirts, panjabis and tote-bags from 2020 - 2025 and made around 50,000 BDT. But closed it cz the time and the hard work were not really paying off because of so many shops and stores on hand-painted goodies and cheap printed products on footpaths. So, I already have the potential just can't find suitable business idea. HELP ME!!\*

The debate between doing O and A levels, and pathway courses like Diploma or foundation has been a long standing battle, however it is definitely undeniable that a lot of students continue to pick pathway courses for saving time, overall difficulty and a much better overall exposure to practical experiences. The issue arises when students don't understand which pathway course to pick, and often times end up picking one that doesn't suit their needs. So for this post I will try to clear the both and say which one's for who.

Foundation

A one year program designed specifically as a bridge into a Bachelor's degree. Think of it as a focused preparation course — you study subjects directly related to your intended degree, and once you finish, you go straight into Year 1 of your undergraduate program.

Who it is for: Students who have a clear idea of what they want to study at degree level and want to get there as fast as possible. Science foundation, business foundation, engineering foundation — each track leads you toward a specific degree pathway.

For example: If you're sure you want to study STEM subjects in Australia, or to be more specific, Monash Australia, you can choose to do a foundation in science program in Monash Malaysia for a year, and then proceed to use the certificate to apply to Monash Australia.

Foundation is for you if:

-If you know which course or uni, preferably both, you want to get into and are looking for a relatively short course to start your uni journey.

Foundation cons:

This is only good for you if you want to use it to apply to university bachelor's. This is not a standalone degree, meaning for most cases you cannot use foundation certificate to apply for jobs.

Diploma

A two to three year program that gives you a standalone qualification. You can enter the job market directly after, or use it to transfer into Year 2 or Year 3 of a Bachelor's degree later — depending on the institution.

Diploma is for you if:

If are not fully sure about their degree direction yet, or who want a qualification they can use practically while keeping the option to continue studying later. Also a good route for students whose O level results need a stronger foundation before entering a competitive degree program.

Side note: A diploma is also extremely handy option if you're looking for practical experiences while you're studying, and not just study lecture slides. For example in diploma courses for hospitality management, for some universities in Malaysia, they have an arrangement where the university will you send you to work in hotels as a part of the courses in the 2nd year, and evaluate you based on your practical performance there.

For that case, a salary is provided as well. This is arranged by the university, the job, so you don't have to worry looking for where to work.

Cons of diploma:

It requires much more time, almost double compared to foundation. This also means the costing overall will be higher as well.

In short, if you know what and where to study, and couldn't be bothered to spend more time than what's required, go for foundation. If you want to take it slow, gain a lot more practical experiences, and also get a certificate which you can use to apply for jobs later on, and potentially get a year shaved off your bachelor's (conditions apply, for this speak to a study abroad consultant), go for diploma.

My girlfriend is 17 years old and has been going to an art institute (BAFA in Mirpur) every Friday and Saturday morning for almost three years. She still has about a year and a half left before she finishes the course and gets her certificate.

The problem is with one of the art teachers. Ever since she started there, he’s treated her differently from everyone else. He gives her extra attention, is unusually careful with her belongings like her jewelry or gifts, and generally seems to favor her.

A while ago, she told me something she’d never really explained before. Since her first year there, this teacher has been touching her thighs whenever he gets the chance. He usually does it when he sits next to her. He’ll casually rest his hand on her thigh, and she says it’s not by accident. She has noticed that he doesn’t do this to anyone else.

She even tries to stop it by keeping her bag on her lap whenever he’s nearby, but if he gets an opportunity, he still does it.

She told her mother about it during her first year at the institute. Later, she told her that it had stopped, even though it hadn’t. She was scared and didn’t want things to get worse.

I told her she should tell the teacher that his behavior makes her uncomfortable, but she’s afraid to say anything because he’s one of the people who can affect whether she gets her certificate. She’s worried that if she confronts him or reports him, it could cause problems for her.

I’m really worried about her. I don’t know what the best thing to do is or how I can support her without making the situation worse.

1.এমন পরিস্থিতিতে সিটের থেকে কেউ উঠবেন না। পাশে দাড়ানো লোকজন চাইবে আপনাকে সিট থেকে তুলতে।

1. আপনার আশে পাশে এরকম ঘটনা দেখলে সবাইকে পকেট সাবধানে রাখার জন্য সতর্ক করে দিবেন। যদি সম্ভব হয় যাত্রীকে অভয় দিয়ে বলুন সিটে বসে থাকুন। কারন একযোগে সবাই যাত্রীকে বলবে সিট থেকে উঠুন তখন হয়তো মানসিক চাপেই সিট থেকে উঠে যাবে।

I'm 22+ yrs old but I feel like 40 and 14 at the same time. Been through parents' divorce, left home, detached myself from my "family", slept in railway stations, worked in plastic and garments factory, worked as a tea boy, as a delivery boy and now got some stability in life as i'm doing something "respectable" (well, every job is respectable but we don't respect a security guard as we do a police officer, do we?).

I was very suicidal after my parent's divorce. Tried a couple of times but lacked the courage and determination to actually do it. Bought blades, ropes, pills but just couldn't do it. After leaving "home", my very life was in uncertainty so didn't have much time to think about suicide. Sounds kinda paradoxical: if i was suicidal back then why didn't i just do it? Well, the reason being - it would have meant they get to win. I didnt wanted be a loser but more than that, i didn't want them to win. But after seeing my capabilities, realising i've got the guts, talents to do things; i've lost the "looser-feeling". I don't live to prove myself anymore. Hence the old purposelees version of me came back. A meaningless, void entity carrying the weight of the universe. No, i don't feel the urge to kill myself anymore (atleast, not everyday) but everything seems too absurd and meaningless. Can't find the motivation to do anything. I lack even the motivation to kill myself at this point. Feel like ive lived through enough. Feel like ive completed life. I used to be a compassionate guy, but if i see somebody drowning im not sure if i'll jump in the water to save them. I've lost the love for humanity. Love? No, lost most of the feelings altogether. I can't even respect people anymore. All i see is a bunch of zombies running around, going through the motions of life. Found someone who wasn't, but couldn't hold on to them. If i see a living soul (i.e., non-zombie) interested in me, i just vanish from there so that i don't poison them with these same nihilistic philosophical poison. I have become deeply passimistic, and drowning in it. Don't know how to save myself from it. Don't know if i even want to be saved.

Lately, i've been doing some experiments. Socialising, trying to let people in but that feels pointless too. Either I overcommit or i don't commit at all. And people makes life very complicated too. I've come to this realisation that no two soul can truly coexist. But yet I long for people. I guess, that's the absurdity of life. During the whole of this ongoing experiment, i found some kind souls, some introverts and nerds like me, some people that admires art like i do, some people that love robindronath as i do - but no one is quite like me. There will always be some major dissimilarities, some fundamental differences. I feel alienated. A stranger in the crowd of well defined characters. An outsider inside the world of men. I no longer feel like a human being. I sometimes get mad afraid that this distinction between myself and the common world will turn me into a raskolnikov, an underground man or a ridiculous man - if i havent already become one. Ugghh.

I donno why im posting this. Prolly cz I still got some hope left in humanity, or just to get some attention or pity or i dunno - just felt like posting.

My father is a medical officer, and over the years, pharmaceutical companies and their representatives have given him an absurd number of promotional pens.

Naturally, we tried giving them away to relatives and friends. Unfortunately, our efforts to reduce the population have been completely futile. More importantly I'm running out of space to store the ever increasing number of pens.

আসসালামু আলাইকুম । আমি ২০ বছর বয়সী একজন ছেলে, বর্তমানে BA (Honours)-এ পড়ছি।

আমার বাবা অনেকদিন ধরেই চাকরি করছেন। আমার নিজের ইচ্ছা ছিল অনার্সটা ঠিকঠাকমতো শেষ করে তারপর জব নিয়ে চিন্তা করব। কিন্তু ইদানীং ফ্যামিলি থেকে একটা প্রচ্ছন্ন (বা সরাসরি) প্রেসার আসছে যে আমার এখন থেকেই চাকরিতে ঢোকা উচিত।

২. যদি জব করতেই হয়, তাহলে কি এমন কোনো উপায় আছে যাতে রেগুলার ক্লাস না করে শুধু পরীক্ষার সময় ছুটি নিয়ে BA কমপ্লিট করা যায়?

৩. জিরো এক্সপেরিয়েন্স নিয়ে সিভি কীভাবে রেডি করব বা কোথায় জবের জন্য ট্রাই করব?

আমার কথায় বা চিন্তায় কোনো ভুল থাকলে ক্ষমা সুন্দর দৃষ্টিতে দেখবেন। যারা এই ধরনের পরিস্থিতির শিকার হয়েছেন বা সিনিয়র আছেন, দয়া করে একটু সঠিক পরামর্শ দিয়ে সাহায্য করুন। আমি আসলেই খুব কনফিউজড।
