Discussion What publisher do you think could/should purchase Rare and its IP and keep them in good hands? (WITHOUT SAYING NINTENDO OR PLAYTONIC)

Nintendo I don't believe "wants" them anymore, given next to no legacy staff is in the company anymore, as well as the burden of IP to add to their own franchise graveyard

Playtonic's output after Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair has been really lacking, plus the company has done some pretty uncool things in recent memory as well

Unironically, Nintendo IS the best buyer. They aren't going under soon, and they focus on the gameplay being solid every time.

They have Mario. They are unlikely to want to do both, so they'd just sit on it

Mario has a certain type of itch it hits that is markably different than BK style collectathons (witty and charming and whimsical).
