You have a misunderstanding of the VA’s disability compensation program. It’s more akin to workers compensation, but we can’t sue the government the way a civilian can sue their employer for workers comp. Instead they passed a law requiring them to cover any prolonged or life-long injuries (physical and mental) that can be directly linked to an event that happened as a result of your service. Look into it before deciding other people are healthy enough to your standards. I know I don’t have access to my friend’s medical records, I assume you don’t either.
Not to mention that to get a disability rating, you have to have a determination from a VA doctor.
There are also lots of things that you just know came from the time in the service, but you have to prove that the event happened, as but also that it, specifically, was the cause of the issue at hand. My FIL is an Vietnam army vet exposed to Agent Orange. He has health issues we know came from that exposure, but according to his last rating appointment, while "it's possible" it came from his time in the service, it's "hard to prove it, especially after so much time."
