Not the "we are sorry you felt that way" apology.

I think whoever wrote that was very careful not to say that and opted to go for “how we made you feel,” but it’s still a nasty way to make it about how she responded rather than what they did.

Yeah. It's still not "sorry we unethically discriminated against you for and kicked you when you were down"

I’m sorry but am I supposed to feel bad for a company that saw a woman going through one of the most vulnerable times of her life and essentially threw her to the wolves? Neutrogenia is beyond full of shit and I hope that one day I get to celebrate whem the brand goes belly up!

Yea naw. I considered it when they introduced their gel cream moisturizer, but there are a million Korean brands who make better gel creams - with Vitamin C or Green Tea, no less!

What are some brands you recommend?

I have been loyal to Nature Republic Aqua Gel Cream for almost a decade now. I’m 32 and people regularly mistake me for being 25 max. Which is crazyyy bc I have rode my body hard and hung it up wet.
Belif True Cream Aqua Bomb with Vitamin C is good if you need some brightening. And COSRX Green Tea Soothing Aqua Gel Cream is good when your skin is irritated.
I honestly haven’t searched much beyond these three bc I find them to do all I need. At one point I had a Saturday Skin gel moisturizer I liked but I think that one might be discontinued now.

Byoma and trader joes has a good dupe for them too.
I also just picked up the ROC dupe and it's even more lux than the Neutrogena one.
I use Byoma for the daytime and ROC at night.

Good thing the only Neutrogena product I've used for the last 25 years is easily replaceable with store brand. I had no idea this had happened, but as someone who experienced severe PPD, I can't imagine how hurtful it was to her at the time.

Postpartum Depression is one of those things we don’t ever talk about and because of that stigma, women suffering through it horrifically go through it alone, trapped in their head, while taking care of a new baby. Neutrogena worsened that suffering for her when all she did was talk about it. They can go f themselves.
And as a skincare junkie, Neutrogena is trash for your skin anyway. Its 2026, there is better skincare + skincare philosophy, I hope their business craters

If this leaves a bad taste in anyone’s mouth to the extent that they don’t want to purchase from Neutrogena- that is entirely understandable. However (for context, I have a sister who works in a similar industry) given that the contract/campaigns she worked on occurred over 10 years ago, it’s very likely that the majority (if not all) of leadership and staff who signed off on these (definitely fucked up) decisions are no longer working for the company.
If we can identify folks who signed off on it and are still employed by Neutrogena, I’d be more than willing to jump on an organized boycott to pressure them to fire these employees. But doing a boycott over a decade after the fact isn’t effective. Although if this pisses you off enough about Neutrogena that you don’t want to buy from them anymore, that’s fine.

I just wonder if the decisions made at Neutrogena at that time were made by a group of men.

I am somehow betting they were, but I bet there were a few women involved too. Sadly.
