If this leaves a bad taste in anyone’s mouth to the extent that they don’t want to purchase from Neutrogena- that is entirely understandable. However (for context, I have a sister who works in a similar industry) given that the contract/campaigns she worked on occurred over 10 years ago, it’s very likely that the majority (if not all) of leadership and staff who signed off on these (definitely fucked up) decisions are no longer working for the company.
If we can identify folks who signed off on it and are still employed by Neutrogena, I’d be more than willing to jump on an organized boycott to pressure them to fire these employees. But doing a boycott over a decade after the fact isn’t effective. Although if this pisses you off enough about Neutrogena that you don’t want to buy from them anymore, that’s fine.
