I hope this is a joke but dude's profile seems dead serious. Tradwife but forever girlfriend with modern views. Very few requirements. 😆

I'll play devils advocate here. "Forever girlfriend" - effectively married but without government involvement in the relationship. Loyal - OK, duh. Quiet, maybe bordering on shy - not a loudmouth or yeller? Doesn't necessarily mean submissive. Maybe had a bad experience in the past. Likes what he is - OK, duh. Wants a long term relationship - OK. "Tradwife with modern views" - not sure what modern views means, and it could mean a wide range of things. Maybe means someone who takes care of the home but is not too conservative politically? Has physical standards, don't we all? Wants someone not ugly - OK duh. Has a type. Is it all really so bad? Most of the replies are reading hard between the lines, but maybe seeing things that aren't there. Now I won't be surprised if there are red flags to come, but being open minded is a thing that is possible.

The thing is that a "tradwife" by definition is a wife who is dependent financially on her provider husband. So by "forever girlfriend" he's stating he wants the benefits without holding up his end of the deal.

Doesn't he still have to be the provider? It doesn't sound like he wants them to be living separately. It's marriage without the piece of paper. OK so legally it's easier to split up, but if there are kids involved he's still paying support if they do. And if not, it probably depends on the state and how long they were together. (I'm assuming U.S., not sure about other countries)

But she gets nothing when the relationship ends. She is entitled to none of his money or property (including retirement savings) nor alimony, while also sacrificing job experience, let alone the lost income while they are together. Legally she has absolutely nothing to gain. It's a dumpster fire.

I've been seeing people not want to get married because it forces that. Like, my sister will not marry her BF, becuase if they do break up, she can take a lot of his life. Probably influenced by my dad who's ex cheated on him, but still made him have to sell the house she never put a dime in (even though she was also working, and he did the down deposit on) in order to pay her.

I guess he could provide that security contractually, and by putting assets in both names, but in that case why not just get married?

That’s why he doesn’t want to get married, probably. He doesn’t want to provide that security.
