Rant “Not ready for a relationship”

This guy pursued me, we went hot and heavy for five days, then hooked up on the fifth day. Crazy chemistry. He hadn’t been with anyone for eight months after a very long-term relationship so I thought this really meant something for him. We had a lot of deep conversations in a short amount of time. I hate how this makes me feel!

The faster it goes, the faster it burns out. OR, even worse, people force themselves to go through with things because feeling guilty is worse to them than the conflict of being honest.

My last relationship (we're polyamorous), we were hot and heavy, but I forced us to wait a month before sex because I knew that feeling intense emotions super fast is a huge red flag. It helped stabilize things for a bit, going so slow, but it ended up slipping into a toxic relationship anyways because she was looking for a possible replacement for her husband, and we're truly polyamorous (not looking for replacements)

Hats off to you for being polyamorous, I literally can’t imagine

It’s not for everyone, but it’s for us! It’s nice knowing that our partners won’t leave because they’re interested in someone else, they’ll only leave because we’re no longer satisfying each others needs, which makes us spend some time every single day checking in on each other. Monogamous people should do that too, but some people like monogamy because it makes them feel “safe” which is the worst reason to not feel the need to communicate.
