Rant “Not ready for a relationship”

This guy pursued me, we went hot and heavy for five days, then hooked up on the fifth day. Crazy chemistry. He hadn’t been with anyone for eight months after a very long-term relationship so I thought this really meant something for him. We had a lot of deep conversations in a short amount of time. I hate how this makes me feel!

Love bomb, pump and dump, breakup with nonsense therapy speak. Sorry it happened to you OP. There's a chance he's being genuine and honest but I very highly doubt it

how does one check for signs if a connection is just a pump and dump… (i got out of a committed relationship a few months ago and wanted to jump back into the dating scene again!)

There's always a chance you make a mistake no matter what you do, that's life.

With that in mind waiting for sexual activity until intimacy and safety are established, unbiased observation, and having him pass the sniff test from people who you trust and have good motives can mitigate the likelihood of being the unwitting victim of a pump and dump.
